It started yesterday afternoon. My gauge will read a solid 22.4 when idling or cruising but if I hit the accelator it will read a blinking 7.4. I believe I just need to recalibrate the LC-1. I know it has to be recalibrated every so often and that hasn't been done in about six months. Can anybody verify that is all that is wrong with it or am I looking at something more serious?

Try to calibrate, and if it doesn't help, verify all of your ground connections. Re-connect them if needed to different locations.

Thanks for the response. It would make things a lot easier if I was at my house and use my jack but I have to use the pissant OEM jack in order to get to the LC-1. I also have to go buy a wrench big enough to unscrew the sensor from the downpipe. DAMN!!

Don't do that ... if you have the switch or the digital gauge it's easy.

Find a decent decel area ... ideally down a hill that you can be in 4th gear on and coast for 10 to 15 seconds.
Get in 3rd or 4th gear around 3500 RPM and let off the accelerator.
After about 3 seconds the injectors will cut. Give it 5 seconds to be sure.
After you wait that 5 seconds, run the calibration (hold button for 3 or 4 seconds).
Give it another 5 sec or so to calibrate.

Basically, once the injectors cut the engine is just an air pump. The exhaust is cleared very quickly at this point and you can calibrate the sensor.

Interesting tip.

It's actually listed in the LC-1 manual as an acceptable calibration method after the initial free air setup.

I have read that and unfortunately I don't have that switch on mine. I only have the taped off black wire underneath the dash.

I know enough about it. It's just that I don't have all my tools in order to do what needs to be done. Luckily there is an autocraft shop on Ft. McPherson that I can utilize.

Yay!!! I fixed it. I just had to recalibrate it by taking out the sensor from the downpipe, turn the key on, warm up the sensor and then ground the little black wire. After reinstalling the sensor and lowering the car I was all set. It took me less than 15 minutes.
