Did you get springs and retainers? Not sure if the 280's are aggressive enough to require them though.

All I can say is that I've done cams on mine twice with no problems & she runs great. It's no quick & easy deal, but atleast you don't have MIVEC to deal with.

i think the hks 280's are pushing it a little on stock valve train... but just my opinion i would just wait order some springs and retainers and do everything at once.. so if you every upgrade don't have to worry about springs... but its you car :-D.... no one rents them... you can buy it from evomoto.com for 60 bucks or so... or you can try to make your own with a threading tool.. but i suggest paying the 60 ... i tried making my own and didn't work out and ended up taking it to forged... and the 400 dollars is worth getting it done by someone... else but once again up to you... evomoto.com sells the tool i think buschurracing.com does as well.... gl ... andy (shunderwunder) :-P if you do do this... i'd like to come and watch let me know... i might be able to help but i'm pretty sure you can do it :-P o and you mine as well do head studs

tru i might just pay it! but i had a friend with a 8 and he had hks 280s stock spring and everything was fine hes never had any probs... but how much are the springs and retaners and what kind should i look for and where can i find them?

i did gsc... you can find them at stikiller.com... good to rev to 11k... your looking at about 300ish i wanna say i don't remember but check out that site... and you can find them... you can do others as well but i think the gsc beehives worked well for mine... i'm just saying its better safe then sorry...

yeah i'd look around you can find stuff... i'd help you install them but personally i think its to much of a hassle... but i did springs and retainers at the same time so it was more of a bitch to do it... but let me know if you get the tool... it seems easy if you have the tool... and torque wrech and stuff which shunder does and i have it as well.. so if you end up getting the tool wouldn't mind helping out... i live right around you somewhere.. meet you at the riverside meet once...

I have no experiece with valve springs, so I wouldn't be able to help with that. By the way I'm sure the $400 does not include replacing springs, but if it does I'd say that's a hell of a deal. I dont know if they are needed with HKS 280's, but I'd make sure if I were you.I personaly don't recomend doing head studs since doing them one by one without removing the head can cause a head gasket leak. It's not common, but happens a good bit from what I've heard. The stock studs seem to hold up well to quite a bit of boost. Definately put a boost controller on before you get tuned if you don't have one. Chintan (hope I spelled that right) you are more than welcome to swing by & help if you want. Text me your # again cause it wasn't saved to my SIM card & I switched phones.

yeah i'd find out for sure ... but its most likely another 100-200 to do springs... on top of cams... i will never do springs again :-P its such a pain.. you have no idea... and you also need to by a tool that cost around 100 dollars... on head- mitsubishi valve spring compressor tool... also don't recommend doing head studs at home either... only reason i'm letting him know was because i think i'm starting to push my 8 studs to the max and wish i went ahead and changed them out when i did springs and cams :-P just to be safe... yeah spelled my name right :-P pmed the number

yeah... i usually have a turbo timer so never leave it in gear... monday i think i get off at 6 if that is the case after 6 works for me...

That should be no problem, but we should do it at my house so I'll have all my tools available. Having a compressor & air tools is always nice. Although I did stand there & watch Chintan use a hand wrench for quite a while before realising that an air ratchet would have come in handy. :D

shunder dyno preformance or whatever is giving me a deal! Head bolts gaskets super tec dual coil springs and installing and a tune all for 1200 bucks its 5 hours of labor and then he is knocking 100 off the tune and 200 off the hours... he is giving me the springs and heads at coast i guess he is a pretty cool guy that i talked to and said he has been workin on evos forever and in the uk forever so i think ima save and go with this!!
