Well after seeing all these EVOs being cammed, I think it's my turn to do the same as well.:D

Any suggestions as to which cams to roll with??? HKS 272? Cosworth??

Ive always seen good results on the VIII with HKS's. I like the Cossies on the IX's. You also may consider GSC.

GSC and Kelford is the way to go with the VIII's. With the GSC S1's I know you don't have to upgrade the springs and retainers, but not sure with the Kelfords. The Kelfords produced the most gains over just about any cam when AMS did their cam testing.

I personally have HKS 272's and they aren't bad by any means and you can normally find a good deal on those used.

I think it all considers what your end result is going to be. If you are planning on upgrading turbos then you might want a more aggressive cam, which will require upgraded springs, retainers, etc... There are cams that will give you good gains but don't require upgraded parts, like HKS and GSC.

I know for my IX I had as much of a difference from the stock to the gsc's, as I did from the gsc's to the cossie's. Cossie's FTW!!!

I'd suggest the Kelfords as well. The GSC S2's perform well on the IX, but I'm not sure on the VIII. You also can't go wrong with the Cossies.
