Well, I have an autometer cf gauge and the vacuum line that they put in the box is super tiny clear tubing. I see everyone using the thicker rubber tubing for the vacuum line. However, looks like the back of the gauge will only accept the tiny tubing by way of fittings. The directions are so basic and general that I am not sure how to handle my specific situation. I want to get this thing installed soon...help please!

Sounds good to me-as long as I can help. I am all about learning. I'll buy some beer and fire tha grill up! I wish I had time to go pick up my megan exhaust. I would love to get that put on too. I bought it from Dan(BROWN on forums) in SC and need to go pick it up.

I don't think I could drive that far yet. 4+ hrs each way. But, it sure would be worth it. My wife is going to drive me over to SC one weekend to pick it up.

I will call him and see about getting it shipped. Probably spend just as much in gas driving to get it as it would cost to ship.

yeah... if he wont ship, i wont mind driving you there as well... and i can do the downpipe... its really easy too...

Supposedly its the megan version 2 dp that clears the acd(I hope anyway). I will probably have to go without a tune until I can come up to a meet and use Trip's tractrix cable to get a Jestr tune. I'm hoping to pick up a jdm metal bov and mbc before I get a tune though. I'll just run rich for now.

yeah, an exhaust is not gonna change be a lot of difference on your ecu anyway... im sure you can run it just fine.

the bov as well, since its an oem part, but i could be wrong. regardless, its not something that is gonna make your car run bad... its gonna be faster still lol

I just want the metal bov to hold consistent pressure better.

yeah, as well it should. the plastic ones our cars come with suck ass.

just for mine and the forums sake, is the boost gauge installed by connecting the vacume hose from the gauge to the three-way fitting under the hood?

it goes in a hose on the intake mani.

cool that easy? then all thats left is the power source?

I didn't like the crappy, plastic white tubing that came with mine either... So, I just cut off a tiny piece of the white plastic and used it coming directly off the gauge and slid some rubber vacuum hose right over the top of it, works great and looks a lot cleaner  I'm using probably an inch or less of the white plastic tubing..

Yup, just a tee in a line and a power source.. I tee'd mine in coming off of the intake manifold like Ed said..

I actually thought about using the rubber tubing exactly like you said you did mac_05evo. The only problem that I could forsee is the pressure readings might fluctuate a little.

oh ok. so you don't run the line(from the gauge) to the three-way done the line from the boost silinoid?

Ive got mine coming from a 3 way split type deal. Its coming off my intake mani of course, so its the same source... I think... It reads fine anyway. Ill have to double check it and post up pics. Id love to come up to Athens and help ya out too. Just sorta tight on money and gas is skyrocketing again... A cook out is really tempting though... You know how us fat kids love cookouts

that line is the fuel pressure reagulator line, and thats the one mine runs off of also, the exhaust won't hurt ur car any without an tune, u'll be fine,

without an dyno tune or an wideband i wouldn't worry about adjusting ur air/fuel, i don't really like email tunes due to the differences cars have in them, and that u could be running leaner then whats safe, timing adjustments are good and thats where u pick up more power anyways.
also can fix ur idle w/ ac on, adjust ur launch control, and boost cut

u can also do that dylan, its just alot easier to do it from teh fpr line, boost gauge install is like an 30 min job
