I need to get an alignment too. What are the specs on a stock car?

bomjoon

... like 1.3 front
0.7 rear

0 toe front and rear

they might be toed in slightly for better highspeed stability... the shop should have the stats.

God. You run shit load of camber. I run
-1.5 Front
-1.0 Rear
0 toe all around, turns like crazy but eats tires

Yours must eat tires like hell. Especially with positive toe.

Do you have coilovers and camber plates? I guess since you run so mch camber and factory suspension allows just -1.6 up front I think

... like 1.3 front
0.7 rear

0 toe front and rear

Stock car has more like
-1.1
-0.7
and -.3 front and some neg toe rear

I don't remember exact numbers but I am going to put new tires on tomorrow at Butler and do align all suspension back to stock with a little diferent camber setting. So I can let you know tomorrow about factory settings. At Butler they have all this in their computer.

i got coilovers w/o camberplates. if i had them id run more camber :P

the wear surprisingly isnt that bad...

just need to rotate often and go on mt runs to wear out the outside evenly hehe

the toe out makes turn in better. and better responsiveness....

but kills tires on hwy.

when tires are 1/2 worn the cords are showing on the tire on the inside due to toe outtage

Lol, that's some serious camber for the street. I think I'll be staying closer to stock specs.

Same here I run 0 toe and neg camber with inside of tires wearing off. With one thing that I forget to switch them in between rims and I went on long trip.... well after this they were done :)
0 toe will be more responsive. And I like personally how it turns.
Makes car very neutral. And that's what's most important for me.
Well on new set of tires I will run stock toe setting and less camber since for every day driving I just don't see that much of advantage of race setup, it's just so uncomfortable on highway when you drive longer distances.
And you have to rotate tires in between rims all the time.
Don't understand me wrong in Europe with nice flat autobahn it's all good but here with that all concrete redneck design highway with waves like fu...ng ocean is just terrible experience to drive like this.
For future definitely I will put some coilovers probably Tanabe or JIC and run camber plates just to have ability to adjust myself when I am going on mountain run etc.

I'm too poor to buy tires that often...

Joey, I though toe in up front aids in turn in ... in at front, out in back for max cornering. Set the wheels to follow the curve. The opposite would aid in high speed stability.

EDIT :: Nope, you're right. Toe in up front is for stability, toe out is for turn in. I guess my thinking applies more to the corner exit than the turn it.

I'm running -2.4º up front and -1.3º in the rear. 0 toe. (I think Joey got aligned since he was jealous of my silly camber) I just rotated my tires and they are wearing perfectly, aside from one that was in the rear during the last auto-x ... it's work like I had too much pressure (down the center), but it was really due to a really heavy slide on the crappy surface at BRC.

Do you know why the DOT designed our roads like that? Extra turns and curves are added to the design of roads to keep drivers focused on the road instead of looking around out of boredom (while driving in a straight line). However, I think that this is crap since we still have way more accidents than we should.

Dude corners have nothing to do with it :):):) , I don't know from where you took this assumption. Wavy means road is just uneven (shitty quality surface). :)

:D:D:D

PS. That is just awesome that you think I was complaining about corners :)
Man I was laughing so bad that I was almost crying. That's even better than when I saw Cartman from South Park taking crap on his teachers desk....

I heard that a long time ago, can't remember where. Maybe I'm off base. I'll have to look for the link.

yeah i was jealous of massive camber you had on yo ride. :P

i found out it would go to -2.4 before needing camber plates for more camber.

Yeah, depends on your setup. You're a bit lower than me so you can dial in more. at stock height I could only go to -1.6º ... useless. It was -.5º stock ... lol.

I really wanted the WL plates that added caster as well but I got a good deal on the Cuscos. I was going to rotate them for caster but I couldn't have gotten the camber I wanted then.

i need camber plates but with this set up i think it would be enough for mt runs.
