hey guys, I havnt set anything in stone yet as Im still debating whether or not to just leave the MR stock. But IF I was to do anything to it I was thinking about doing a few things that you dont see everyday. What are everyones thoughts on teh JUN 264 camshafts for the IX? If I end up modding the MR I will be wanting to keep it stock turbo setup. Has anyone confirmed gains from o2 housings? I have heard mixed reviews some saying they picked up 10-15 and others saying they picked up nothing at all. I want to do a few mods that you dont see everyday, which is why Im considering the JUN 264s compared to the traditional Cossie M2s. Open to ideas aswell ;)

The JUN cams are great in the IXs. They're rare simply due to the price.

For the O2 housing, I'm a little biased but I would recommend the EPM divorced O2 housing. Look on EvoM and you'll find tons of people that have made from 10 - 30 hp through the mid range with this part ... I got 19 hp/tq from it w/o any tuning. This was over a ceramic coated Megan O2 housing with minor port/polish work.

It's about to get the independent testing on the west coast that everyone has been screaming for ... they don't seem to trust our findings, or the findings of all of our customers.

i dont think i gained shit with my megan o2 housing.

i would just keep it stock and do suspension mods all the way for fun driving up inda mts.

i miss my quiet exhaust...
wish i can go stock exhaust with same power :P

stock evo is fast enough on track with enough suspension mods.

QTP cutout with an EPM O2 housing. That way it'll sound stock until you want to let her rip. Like touringbubble said the Jun cams are great. I remember reading an article when the IX 1st came out that JUN was making over 400whp with the jun cam and basic bolt ons. Still on the stock turbo.

I wont be tracking this car, I already have a track car. The car will be used for spirited driving and an occasional mtn run

whats the QTP cutout?

Matt, do you have experience with the JUN cams? How do they compare to the M2s? You are referring to the JUN 264s correct?

I believe Jun has a very aggressive ramp angle. or so I have seen on other forums. I have HKS 272's in my IX and its my DD. I have had no problems and the sound is amazing. I have not dyno'd the car yet, so I cant vouch for exact gains. But she boogies!

Ive used HKS 272s on my VIII and they are good mild cams, but I want to do something a bit different. Also, the JUN 272s are very aggressive, but I believe the 264s are supposed to be more of a mild/semi aggressive cam.

lol Bomjoon's quite a character lol. The QTP cutout is just a 3in downpipe that bolts to your stock exhaust and when you want to have a full 3in "exhaust" you hit a switch and it opens up and dumps the exhaust gases out of the DP. Charles used to have one and it was wicked!!!

sounds cool, but a bit more than I would want for a daily.

Well thats the point. It'll sound stock until you open the cutout.
