Ok here's the deal...
My mom recently started working for a company that produces a material to line car interiors/under the hood to reduce noise/heat. Apparently this stuff can withstand some very high temperatures... It is a small company (only the inventor and my mom.. ha!) and it is used in a lot of NASCAR race cars... Many corvette, jaguar, etc owners use this material as well to lessen the cabin noise, or to keep the heat down from under the hood. It is used in planes and RV's alike. The problem is that they has no connection with the import world. Now, my idea is that maybe if i could get a test fit for my Evo X, and maybe find an Evo 8/9 for fitment that maybe they can get a jump start in the import world. I know a lot of people turn their Evos into track superstars, and they may have a use for this. I know for a full interior kit on the corvettes/jaguars it's about $320 so I assume it would be very similar for us.
My question is do you guys think there is a use for this, or would this be able to help the Evo community? (as well as my mom lol). The material shouldnt add very much weight overall. They would also be looking for distributors, so if a kit is made, they could try and be the first to have it available. Now, im sure i'd have to find a test mule to see the difference after it's applied (if only i knew someone with a track car... lol).
Also, they make liners for heat sheilds, and I know that the evo X has a problem with very high heats around the turbo. I think they can make sleeves as well for different pipes (gotta check on that one).
This is the company website: http://www.koolmat.com/main.htm
Anyways, let me know what your opinions are
