I would live to build my car for T/A!!

its REALLY expensive, but if you ever have the money, you should definitely do it. Its a ton of fun and in my opinion the best kind of racing.

Hey Ryan,

maybe we can meet up one day and you can tell me what else i need to get my car to T/A (see i just learned something new) level. I think i'm almost there.

After I get the Evo paid off, I am turning her in to a track car...just not at the level Ryan's car is at. I want to do a few more things, but I will probably stay under 400hp. Power isn't everything on a track.

Its actually much more obtainable than it sounds. In my case Im running in the Redline Time attack series. They make it very easy for anyone to participate. They run 3 classes, street, modified, and unlimited.

Obviously there are certain restrictions to each class to attempt to keep it fair. You could realistically compete in street class right now, but dont expect to get a podium. The competition in street is rediculous and they should probably be tighter on what they allow to participate. For instance, technically I am running in street and modified class, which means you would have to compete against my blue car in street, which even I will admit is not really fair to the avg driver who just wants to get out there and compete and have fun. Hopefully next year they will reformat the restrictions. I should only be in modified or unlimited class, which is all I plan to do next year.

For street class the rules are such as the car has to be legally registered, has a catalyctic converter, street tires, etc. We managed to squeeze my car in abiding by those restrictions even though the car has over 600hp and a full racing suspension and brakes.

I would love to meet up sometime and tell you what you need to do to make your car competitive in any class. Keep in mind that T/A is not cheap, its usually $300-$400 just to participate, then the cost of gas, hotel room as its usually out of state, gas to get up there and back, tires, etc. i think the last even cost me around $2000 just because we had my car trailored up to WV. I believe you can usually get away with doing it for around $600 per event if its local.

Thanks, i'd appreciate that.

Money is not really a problem, it's more of a problem with time.

I can definitely do the local events, but the out of state events may be too much of a stretch.

lol! Excited are we? Not that I blame you.

Also, if we can get a big enough group together, we may be able to rent out a local track and have our own priviate T/A :) Just something to think about.

I would love to get involved with setting up local events.

I'll start looking into this and see if its possible to get one thrown together before all the tracks close for the year. If you want to help that would be great!
