At this time this is directed mostly at rob, and maybe a few of the other X owners lurking on the site ;) I need to know all the options you have considered as far as tuning goes for the Evo X. Im trying to find out what options to provide at Forged Performance. We have seen the EcuTek option but I dont think we are really leaning towards this route. Just like the VIII/IX it doesnt seem very economical. The software and the tune are very expensive and as far as I can tell doesnt seem to provide any additional benefits over a reflash. Chime in and give us your input :) This discussion is open to VIII/IX owners aswell. Thanks for everyone's help.

I'm basically waiting on Ecuflash.
I think A LOT of X guys are merely waiting for it to come out.
It would be nice to get tuned, but I completely agree with your comments on Ecutek pricing.
I heard the licensing fee for a shop is OUTRAGEOUS and then the user end licensing fees is also quite a bit.

Once EcoFlash is released we will be doing this, but Im having a hard time finding information on the details of the release date.
As far as Ecutek goes, I dont see many people that are going to want to pay $700 for a tune, which is probably what it would work out to. Its very overpriced in my opinion. I believe the Ecuflash tunes should be around $375-400. I will need to talk with Sharif and see what he plans to set the price at.
In the meantime if you see any other tuning options that you would like us to look into let me know.

Everytime the Ecuflash thread on EvoM gets an updated date... its generally pushed back a month just a few days short of the previous date.
Yep, Dyno4mance said its about $700-$800 to get tuned.
Since I am pretty much stock (drop in filter is the only mod), there's no point to pay $750 to see what the stock car can do. I'd definitely love to see what its capable of in its stock tuned form. Gonna get some parts once more stuff is out...

ECUFlash support for the X has been pushed back mainly due to the OpenPort 2.0 cable being pushed back. If we can't read the ROM no one can work on disassembling it. It is coming though.

Robb, have you looked into the parts AMS has released for the car? I think they are getting some great results out of them, and they look pretty good too.
As soon as we have access to the ECUflash we will need a car to test ;)

Has an AccessPort come out for the Evo X yet? For some reason I'm thinking it has, but maybe I'm thinking of the GT-R

yes I believe it has but access ports seem to be somewhat limited with what you can do with the tuning. I have no solid experience with this on a X, just what I have read on it.

I'm liking the AMS X stuff, but I've been wanting to get a tune and then start modding.
Also allows for time for more products to be test & released - larger selection to choose from :D

if you get your tune and then start modding you will need another tune after your mods. Its fine if you do this but just know that you will be paying for 2 tunes ;)

I am aware of that.
On the IX, I modded (tbe, licp & uicp, intake, O2 housing) and then got it tuned.
Never felt how the stock tuned car drove - I was always curious as to what the car was capable of without all the mods and then seeing what they added.
Can you PM me some pricing on the AMS X Parts?
