A while back a guy off EvoM offered to do the rear O2 delete for me via ECUflash and he did and it worked flawlessly, but due to the new emissions software the car won't pass as the rear O2 will now never be "ready." I've already had my emissions done and it cost me 90 bucks to pay off a guy (not bad considering it cost me 175 with my 240sx here in GA), so theres no real rush to get it fixed, but I was wondering if anyone here with ECUflash experience (Alan or Ric maybe?) could help me to remove the the mod, so my rear O2 sensor will work like normal again and I'll just buy a new rear O2 sensor. I'm still in GA, and won't have access to my car til at least Tuesday, but just making this thread while I'm thinking about it. I have the tactrix cable and everything like that, so it's just a matter of pulling it off and emailing to whoever can remove it. Thanks to anyone who can help :D!

He probably just changed the Periphery Bit to disable the MIL/Check. You can replace it with the new method that mrfred wrote as long as your ROM is supported. I can take a look at it for you if you want, let me know what ROM it is first. And no need to buy the o2, get a couple of resistors, the new patch passes the readiness tests.

Thank man. I'll PM you when I get back to Reno Tuesday.

honestly, i still go with the mechanical fix because it is just an extension and everything still works just fine. Doesnt hurt the sensor, i dont have to cut anything. For 5 dollars and 5 minutes of drilling, my problem is solved.

I am a tech guy, and I prefer to bypass it in the code. Same results. I have been using mrfreds code for about 4 months now with no problems, all OBD Readiness tests pass.

I didn't cut the sensor either, the resistors are stuck in to the o2 connector under the seat. The sensor is sitting on top of my toolbox and safe.

Either way he still needs the periphery bit changed so the computer will start to check for the sensor again.

I see what your saying now. You basically made your own O2 sim correct? Also how do you know it passes readiness checks and will actually pass emissions? By use of a scan tool? Not doubting you at all just checking trying to learn. I'll get my tactrix cable back tomorrow though and should be able to email you my rom then.

there is a write up on evoM by MRFRED on how to do it. Its pretty simple looking. I just use the mechanical fix myself.

I have the mechanical fix and I was still throwing the code not a week or 2 after I bought the car.

I have had two foulers for over two years. Never again got the code. Try that Tripp.

I'm using 2 foulers. Regardless I still need my ECU code put back to factory because right now no matter what I do it still won't read as ready. The code was throwing back when I 1st bought the car (over 2 years ago), so I think the previous owner might have just messed up the sensor.
