I just got finished with Sharif at Forged Performance and let me start off by saying, "Thank You Sharif and Dylan!" Dylan came in early this morning to install my cams and did so with complete professional even though I would distract him sometimes to Sharif's chagrin. :D It's hard to keep someone focused on the task at hand when they are being distracted by a nuisance. Now onto the results.
My first dyno run was done on 26 April 2008 during Forged's dyno day and I received a very disappointing 216.8hp. This was with a 3" TBE with HFC and Magnaflow exhaust from Buschur Racing. This also included their cone filter and mbc set to 22psi peak along with a Walbro and PPI licp. Since then I have added a 3.5" ETS intercooler along with their uicp and today the GSC S1s and finally tuned by Sharif. The results were very impressive to say the least.
304.8 HP!!!!!!!!
That is almost an increase of 90hp. I received an increase of ~60hp even before the tune. The tune is very safe as this is my daily driver. I peak around 23psi. Sharif wanted me to go higher but I respectfully declined. Unless he is interested in sponsoring my car. LOL. I loved driving the car back to my place after leaving Sharif's. The lope is there but does not affect the idle at all.
For anybody looking for a tuner shop look no further than Forged Performance.

Cool, congrats.
The final #'s were 304 awhp? Any clue on TQ? I can't wait for cams.

It didn't show torque so I am unsure about that but that was 304 awhp.

Congrats on the numbers! Thats nothing to sneeze at either. Thats around 350hp on a dynojet which isn't bad for a VIII w/ the 10.5 hotside. It's also good to know you've got more to go if you want a retune.

Thanks. Yeah, Sharif was wondering if I wanted to go higher. It was tempting but my sanity took the better side of me. I was honestly astounded at the vast increase. I would have been pleased with a 30-50whp increase but almost 90whp is just plain amazing.

Well not to bash your old numbers (may have been the tune) but I made 272 with intake, exhaust, MBC at 21psi, and a Jestr flash (and a 03' with the 9.8 hotside) on Andrews (Dyno4mance) dyno. I know Shariff uses the same dyno, but I've seen that all dynos, even by the same company, can read differently.
P.S. It's really hard to type when your drunk and this msg took me a good 10min to type lol

Normally I would agree with your comment about the tune but it was done by TTP and Sharif also confirmed it was a good tune to start with. I know that Sharif's dyno is a serious heartbreaker but I definitely didn't feel that way yesterday.
Why did you get drunk and why wasn't I invited? :D

I have the digital image of my dyno sheet but having difficulties loading it on here. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Glad to know it was checked over by Shariff and everything was good. Thats really strange though.
I was drunk cause it was my bday (23 now... Ummm... Yay? lol) and I didn't invite you cause I live in Reno. Regardless I'll be in town in a few hours and your free to come out :D

lol! that is just simply amazing. I hope you are happy with those rediculous gains. Cams make all the difference in the world on a VIII. Glad to see your putting solid numbers down now! Enjoy the tune.

That is exactly why I want cams! Awesome gains. Looks like you had a tiny spike around 4k RPMs and smooth gains all the way to redline. I never had that beginning spike in my dyno graph. I will post mine up in a few minutes, for comparison.

Thanks bigric for posting that for me. As you can tell by the dynograph the big power gains in the mid to high power band. This car just feels awesome now when I'm cruising on the highway. The get up and go is no slack either. On a different note, I just installed my GF210s and they are a major improvement over the stock springs. Now I just have to wait for my wheels on Friday.

Glad you are happy Dan. Your install and tune went as smooth as butter. :)
Sometimes our dyno puts that little power spike in there as the dyno start ramping up...it just a glitch in the software.

I wonder why that is... Our mustang in NC has started doing the same thing recently and it had never done that before. Very strange.
You probably dont know who i am, but id like to say hello. A buddy of mine, (bobby berrios) came down to your shop for some EFI training i believe a few months ago. He was the guy with the super beetle and showed up in a silver POS looking EVO with a built engine :) ...... he had nothing but great things to say about the shop. I just wanted to say hello.

what does your boost taper down to by red line? I'm thinking about getting a forge wastegate actuator cause my boost tapers down so much. It spikes to 24psi on my gauge then tapers down to 19psi by red line. I heard it will help a lot. Also wish my idle was as good as yours. Mine lopes like crazy and stalls with a/c on. I still need to take it back to forged to have the idle adjusted... :(

reason the boost tapers is it is the stock turbo... it is basically designed to taper to lower engine temps. It is so small that it stops breathing up top and you stop making torque so why hold boost if you arent doing anything ? so taper, reduce temps and run some more timing to sustain the power. If you went to a bigger turbo, boost sustains itself, your torque curve is flatter and obviously power is higher.

You're one of the many that I know that the car will stall on idle. Seems to be a common problem.

i know it tapers cause the turbo loses its efficiency higher rpms but i heard that some people only taper down to 21psi by redline. So is the forge wastegate actuator not worth buying bigric? I just thought it would help 2 or so psi.

i had it on my 20G setup... it works well. order from TTP, Scott will help you out with it. Also, make sure you let him know VIII or IX turbo. You are going to taper some. Also, boost response can be initiated and maintained a little bit by MIVEC as well.
