I've been on many different boards concerning Evo's. From Michigan, Pa, to Atlanta... Now living in Atlanta I decided to join here...lol

I have a 03 Evo, slightly modded;), that was built and tuned by Buschur Racing. My car goes nowhere else no matter where I live. I had learned the hard way to just stick with a place that is proven and legends with the car that I drive. Now that I go there my car has NEVER had an issue. Trust me, in the end I saved mucho $$$ Plus, Dave/Daniel Buschur and crew are just stand up guys!

Nonetheless, glad to be here and hope to meet up with you folks some day...

Dave is a little abbrasive for my taste... but you cant deny that he has a very in depth knowledge of the community and his shop builds very nice power producing cars.

Congrats on the ride, and welcome to the area

He is...but that's what I like about him. I come from the North and the ruff steel industry towns (ie. Pittsburgh) and he comes from the same.

Thanks for the welcome!:D

What i mainly dislike about him is this type of situation:

Dave posts up some information... which he always does and that is a great thing about him. People will chime in with their .02 and he will blast them for no reason and defend his point with "Im Dave Buschur".... and expects that to be all the evidence he needs. He is very helpful to the community, and his shop puts out amazing products... I just could do without their attitude from time to time. Ive called them with a few questions and they talked to me each time like i was their 2 yr old or something. I also lost a lot of respect for DB and his crew from the incident they pulled with Perrin and their MBC. Had someone done that to Buschur and their products, He'd a been flying off the handle cursing and everything else.

Anyhow, sorry to jack your thread, just venting lol

To each their own...;) and your allowed to vent.
No prob on the thread jacking. It would be a waste to discuss that topic on here anyway. I have a feeling I am the lone wolf Buschur guy on here anyway. Which I am 100% fine with because I like the competition :D

I actually like Buschur as well. His Stage I was my first modification to my car. I'm sure if you had the knowledge base like Dave does and you are constantly getting troubleshooters and sharpshooters that question every little thing you do then I could see why he goes off the handle like that. If people would just stop and do some research and reading then they would actually get their answer instead of asking inane questions or making useless observations.

Put it like this, you are Albert Einstein and some punk comes up to you and tries to poke holes in your theory on relativity. Wouldn't you get a little bent out of shape?

I have the Buschur TBE, and soon will have ported ext,int manifolds, and T/b. They make good products. I sample the field though. Whatever works for the lowest price I can afford at that time. Mad respect for Buschur

I agree that Buschur knows his stuff and I had his older race exhaust and it had some great gains! The one thing I didn't like was how he was advocating cheating in drag racing events by bending your license plate out or putting something in your grill to trip the light sooner. The thread is somewhere on EvoM. He also made some pretty rude and offensive comments about Hispanics. I'm sure theres no one here who hasn't made some sort of racial comment (God knows I have but my Dad used to be a very racist person, but thank God I learned not to be), but it's not something I'm going to do on a public board. Yet again though, that comes from him being really brash and upfront.

BTW, love to see some pics of the car!

I know what thread you are talking about, concerning cheating the lights... He was pointing out that a certain racers claims seemed to big for what was been shown. Hence trying the light trick himself proving a point. It's if your car is lower than 3'' from the ground or something.... Ok, enough defending the guy. Remember what our mothers said about opinions... LOL

All this is very true... Again, you can only argue so much with their camp... they make power and they are very affordable compared to a lot of companies. For the most part, they are out to support the community. That is all commendable. I wish finding the articles i was referring to wasnt so difficult. That is the Dave Buschur I dont like. Luckily for us, its not 100% of the time, id suffice it say its less than 25%... but definitely more than 10% :) ....

I did see the thread about his racist comments, he could have been having a bad day lol, although that is no excuse.

The thing that really made me lose some respect still is the Perrin issue. Dave is always complaining about people stealing designs and not doing the research he does to find out what works the best and all that. Perrin refused to sell Buschur one of their boost controllers because Buschur was a competing company and they did not want them selling their products on Buschurs site. Dave decides to order one thru a customer and reverse engineer it... then change 1 minor thing, anodize it black with a buschur logo on it... and start selling them himself. Then had the nerve to post a thread about it on EvoM bragging about his accomplishment, meanwhile broadcasting the most hypocritical event he could have done. That is when i lost my support for buschur... it was then i pulled all of my parts off of the car that were buschur related. FMIC, manifold, 20G, O2 housing, LICP, UICP, 1G bov ... switched to AMS and a custom 35R setup we made.

My position is pretty well supported. Again, its not that i dislike them or dont appreciate all that they do, but that was pretty low.

To put it terms here, Its like me going out, buying a LY evo, getting the exact same build as you, matching all the exterior mods you have, getting the same license plate minus 1 digit, and then running around saying i hate when people copy my cars design.

EDIT- Nice pics BTW

Wow! That is a lot of work, time, money, and effort to make a point! You really feel that strongly about it I guess  I remember that issue and truly didn't think twice about it. I know the man on a personal level and I understand where he is coming from...majority of the time
Regardless, I understand where you are coming from and I'll quote my mother again... "Opinions are like a$$holes, everyone has one" ... I'm not on here to defend the man...although I will to the bitter end if need be because he is a friend and would do the same for me....like any friend would. Nuff said, end of story.:p

More power to you and sticking to your guns/ethics/etc...

Thanks for the props on the pics. ;)

there was a bit more to it... it also had to do with a phone call i made that morning to them asking for some help with an issue i was having and they basically told me that if i wasnt spending the money to drop the car off at their shop, they didnt have time to help.

Anyhow, im sticking with the nuff said :)

Hey Nick, glad to see your on the site. I know how you feel, I feel like the lone wolf on IA being a AMS guy. Actually Im the only heavily modded AMS owner on the site. You will find many more Buschur supporters on here than AMS ;) With that said they are both great companies and you cant go wrong with either of them. There is a good chance I wont be on IA anymore, it just pisses me off to be honest, but we can talk about that another time. Glad your on the site.

How long did you know this girl before you married her and how long did you live together before the marriage as well? I know that over 50% of marriages end in divorce but damn, 13 days is unreal. Keep in mind that keeping a marriage afloat is hard work. A lot of people have the mindset that as soon as you get married everything is sunshine and rainbows. That's a big load of crap. You have to be willing to sacrifice and most of all communicate in order to make it work. If you can do that then it is well worth it, I think so at least.

Trust me I can give a lot of advice on how to keep a marriage happy but that would involve me writing a book so I will sum it all up in one phrase. "If momma's not happy then nobody is happy." The bottom line up front is keep your wife happy. I'll get off my soapbox now.

Ryan, best of luck to you. Marriage in my mind is well worth it when you treat your woman right.

I used sensei as a general term because most people don't know what a Sasha is. I trained in Bando (Bun_do) a Burmese Combatics for 8 years. I have a little TKD background...but I'm not into pretty kicks... ;) Nothing above the waist actually, unless your head is wide open... So no, I don't know what OSU is...especially if it's from an American based TKD system (I'm assuming). I learned from a 2nd generation male from Burma who's grandfather created the system under the Burmese rule... If you know about Burma (or watched Rambo recently) you'll know it's a fucked up place. It was a ruthless, effective system that when the UFC started (by the Gracie’s) they wouldn’t let out black belts fight… It was MMA…before there was MMA… If you have trained that far back you know what I am talking about. It takes 10-15 years SOLID to get a black belt in our system. This was the real deal shit that I still have nightmares about… Not to mention calluses, and calcium deposits on my shins, forearms, and knuckles… I loved it but unfortunately I moved away and there really isn’t anything close (that I have found) down here. I would love to hear about what you have done :)

I have a 2nd degree black belt in Enshin Karate. Enshin is a Japanese art that was morphed from Kyokushin Karate that means inner circle. Osu is a Japanese word that basically means hooah in Army terms. The founder of this art is famous in Japan and has a comic book made after him. He is known as the ice breaker because of his ability to break many blocks of ice with a low kick. Granted that doesn't do much for self-defense unless you are on the receiving end of one of his low kicks. Enshin Karate is also the sponsor of the Sabaki Challenge which is the largest single day full-contact, no pads tournament. Here is a link... http://sabaki.enshin.com/. It was adopted from the All-Japan Open. Patrick Smith, who fought in UFC 2 and lost to Royce Gracie in the finals, fought in this challenge. It is comparable to Muay Thai with its low kicks but at the same time uses throws and sweeps.

Holy cow, I remember Patric Smith. I know exactly what system you are speaking of as well. That is awesome! Very cool stuff. Do you do that around here and is there a local school?
I only had 8 years in so I made it to brown belt. I had to leave for work so that got put on the back burner. Very cool stuff though. Bando has the same style using low kicks and harder parts of the body for striking. Shin's, elbows, etc... And the conditioning...uhhh... I kind of miss it though... as well as the felling in those extremities LOL
Nice meeting you!

I haven't taught in a long time, but one of the beauties of the martial arts is that it is always with you. I have taught my kids though. My daughter loves to practice with me. I have a heavy bag in the garage that I use. One of the bad things about a heavy bag is that it never gets tired. LOL.

I know what you are talking about when it comes to the conditioning and sore body parts. I've definitely lost some of my "hardness" because I haven't practiced in a while but it is still there. I used to condition my students' shins by low kicking a car tire. Once you get those nerve endings to move away from your striking appendages and build up scar tissue you create quite an effective weapon. One of my favorite moves is a one-two punch and then come in hard and low with a thigh kick. Most people don't have the conditioned thighs to take a kick like that and will crumple. All this talk about it makes me want to go train. LOL.
