Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself to the folks here....
I'm pretty well known on the EvoM boards, but since i am in augusta for awhile i figured id get involved somewhat in the community down here. Im Jason or Ric depending on how much beer we're drinking... Im currently unfortunately in between EVO's. In my mind, you are either driving one, or in between them.
I first started with an 03 BBY Evo with after only an intake, MBC and TBE i managed to squeeze out a 12.4 with her... which back in those days, without tuning and too much knowledge and a 9.8 hotside was pretty damn good.
My last EVO was an 06 WW. I managed to squeeze out a meager 11.8 with nothing but bolt ons and my racegas tune on 26 psi of boost. After that our crew in NC (Fail Crew) lol.... we custom built a 35 setup... well, kinda a 35 :) (our secrets) and with a 30 minute dyno tune she was putting down almost 500whp on our Mustang which seems to read a little bit higher than CBRD's mustang, and less than Buschurs. My last attempt at retuning before she started to some ignition blow thru up top, 2nd pass i let off her at 6000 RPM and she was already at 485/420 with another 1500 RPM's of power to be logged. Anyhow, that car is gone now, i sold her to ULTM8MIND on these boards and he is now taking care of her.
Im now looking for a nice project EVO to build and have some fun with. Something in the range of a salvaged title EVO.
Anyhow... Im not sure how this site is on vendors or anything.... but Im an ECUFLASH (i would say tuner) ROM Adjuster. Ive tuned probably well over 50 different EVOs in the past year and a half... maybe more. Most of them id say i have tuned 3 or 4 times. I also have some great connections for parts if anyone is in need of anything. Feel free to send me a message or email at evotunerguy@aol.com which is also my myspace if you want to be added, send a friend request.
I look forward to chatting with you guys... spreading my knowledge, and helping anyone that needs anything.
Thanks for reading.
Oh and MODS, if you could... instead of deleting this post, if that last part is against the rules, can you either edit it out and leave the post, or just PM and I'll do it immediately after i read the PM. That was a lot of typing.

Hopefully its been good things aside from the hazing on Warrtalon lol
Thanks for the welcome.
So what goes on in these parts ?
I know krazirob likes to come down this way and have meets, and i know sharif is always a good source for info and tuning. Personally not a big fan of Topspeed unless it involves an EMS or a suby, but they are around i guess.... Anyone else around here ?

You are welcome to. Let me know if you need any help or suggestions for install. What kit are you going with ?
Get it installed and we will have some fun :)

Ric, first and foremost, welcome to the boards, we're all glad to have you here. Im sorry about the recent registration issues, something happened when we updated the vbulletin software.
I will probably change your status, along with sharif's to our resident tuners ;) Enjoy your stay and hopefully you will be able to make one of our meets in the near future.

Looking forward to it... and seeing that beast of a car i keep hearing about.
BBY and EB has always been my fav colors. My first evo was BBY, my second i looked and no looked with no luck... so the dealer was nice enough to knock 1500 off the WW if id take it right there. Sold ! :)
See you soon. Krazirob is talking about setting something up with Sharif since NOPI is now off... so same time frame, same area, but at his place. Not sure how far in the works that is, but would be a great meet.

What do you mean NOPI is off?! Ya, me and Rob need to get together and get the plans set for this meet. My understanding is that a good number of NC guys will be making the drive down.

i hope so... i look forward to meeting all of you !
question... are the numbers in your sig corrected ? or uncorrected ? if so that has to be the lowest dyno dynamics i have ever seen. Would love to talk to you sometime about it. I know of Sharif at forged, so dont get me wrong, thats not what i am implying..... im just curious

Honestly I don't know. Sharif would have to answer that. My car was running hot, so he wanted to stop at that. I had air in the cooling system, but have since "burped" it. I will be doing somethings once I get back within the next few months. I am only running 22psi, so those are pretty much pump gas numbers.

makes a bit more sense now... i figured it was something.
most people on our mustang with your mods make at least 350 to 370 whp if not more... with TQ around the same ball park. Customer dependent ofcourse. Im sure one you throw it back on the dyno things will climb like they should.

Sharifs dyno reads rediculously low. Stock Evo VIII dynos at 190-200whp. I believe Dan who has TBE, intake, mbc? etc dyno'd around 220whp. Just the way that dyno is. I REALLY want to throw my car on a mustang dyno to see what it does.

It was definitely a heartbreaker for me. I'm looking forward to getting my new cams in so I can retuned by Sharif. I just got a new short throw shifter and Tanabe GF210s so I need to install those as well.
Welcome to the boards. :D

Ric and I are wanting to come to ATL soon, cause Augusta is DEAD!! We were looking forward to NOPI, not because of NOPI but the whole NC/GA meet, and ofcourse the foam pit and the bikini's, LOL. But yeah, let us know when you guys meet cause we'd like to roll out there....

That makes me feel bad about my numbers. I put down 271 on Dyno4mance's dynodynamics dyno in January with only an intake and TBE.

Yea. I put down 272 on the same dyno.
What really sucks is NOPI never had the foam pit and sh1t when I was single!!!

Sharif's reads lower than Andrews dyno. I made 18whp less on Sharif's dyno when I had my FP green setup and temps were give or take 5 degrees different, and it was cooler when I dynod at Sharif's :(

its just strange to me... ive never seen anything read lower than a mustang dyno not to mention that much lower. I pride myself on the fact that regardless of how few mods you have, i have yet to have a car not hit 300 on our local dyno. I have even spent an extra 30 to 45 minutes on one car to hit my mark... i eventually got there, it was just harder since his mod level was really close to not at all lol. As i said earlier... our mustang reads pretty damn low. Id hate to see my old evo on sharif's dyno... that 500whp would be mid 400's lol.

In all seriousness, I am happy with my car the way it sits right now. With this trip I am on currently, I will be able to pay somethings off so that I can have a few hundy extra each month. By christmas, I will be seeing Sharif and Dylan for a install and retune.

I honestly believe Mustang dyno's read high after being on a dynamics for so long. Put it this way, when my car had all bolt ons + cams + ecu upgrade I didnt break 300 on the dynamics.
When I had the above + a FP Green 20G + methanol injection, I made around 360 on the dynamics... its that low reading.
Nicknamed "The Heartbreaker" for a reason. Its hard to describe to people that I made 534 on the dynamics that most likely will read over 600 on a mustang.

I just got my GSC S1 cams in today and have scheduled an install and tune day with Sharif. Let's just see how the car comes out on "The Heartbreaker" after that.

In the end, the numbers don't mean all that much when you consider the real world power increase while driving it. I feel like my car pulls decently, but the difference in my car and a car like Ryans is tremendous.

I think it all comes down to how the dyno is setup... and different people cheat the dyno setup a little bit. The same car on somebody elses mustang, (wont say whos) put down 400whp and over 400 tq.... meanwhile on my mustang in NC, it didnt see anything near that, 360/380 ish.... There are ways to inflate numbers and im sure that the way Sharif has his setup just gives you the honest heart breaking fact that their are more mods needed :)

^^I'm with stupid^^ Just kidding, it all comes down to performance, the dyno is just a tool to help us get it right.

I agree with both of you. I hate that everyone around here feels like they have to go by numbers and not performance. I think my numbers are very impressive considering the dyno we are using. I couldnt be happier with the car.
ultm8mind
07-20-2008, 10:20 PM
You should be with as low as everyone is talking about getting off of it. But yeah, it is more about the performance than the numbers, but the high numbers are always nice too, lol....

why hey there jason.....!!!!
speaking of dynos yes that is true about the two totally different mustangs.....i think the one in NC isnt well taking care of instead of the other one but we will leave it at that.....!!....LOL
yes i did hear that NOPI is off but like i said on evom im gonna set something up for that weekend anyways i think....
some rumors say that the speedway is gonna put something together in replace of NOPI though so whatever happens its gonna be a good time...
by the end of the week i will know the exact days and will get with the crew and the atlanta crew to see what we can work with.....
and to everyone on here Jason (bigric09) is a good source as far as street tuning or as he says rom adjuster.....wether on a dyno or street he can get the most of your mods using openecu software....
the best thing is it wont hurt your wallet so you can do this after a couple mods or so and then if you like go to a professional tuner at the end but i doubt you will if you know anything about tuning cause it will be pretty much dead on....
he has tuned my car so many times and i have heard from many pro tuners when they look at my maps that whoever messed with it had it right on.......
he was the first evo enthusiast i met when i bought my evo, well except for matt but we wont go into that will we jason....lol
but he taught me alot and got me on the right track as far as knowledge so rape him of it if he lets you....
anyways too much typing so cya.............:)

Rob, looking forward to the meet. Like I said on EvoM, Ric and me can get to ATL whenever for that, well you know.....
