Ok guys I know I made a thread about this a few months ago but now Im really getting close to buying a BBK. Ive changed/narrowed my decision to Alcon, Brembo GT, and AP Racing. I need honest opinions. I plan to track the car pretty hard, but to be honest, and yes I know this sounds rediculous, but the only thing keeping me from just outright choosing the Alcons is the fact that they are hideous. They come silver new and after 1 track use they turb bronze. I also dont like the caliper design. The rotors on the Alcons are among the best on the market, but the calipers are in my opinion inferior to many BBK's on the market. These are the only 3 Im interested in at this time. Please chime in with any additional information and opinions. Ill be posting up addition info that I have found later tonight.

One of the local track guys just sold his Endless BBK for an AP racing kit. It's supposed to be better.

Ya Endless is like the coverpage brake system for all the JDM obsessed guys. When it comes to track proven brakes they are good, but still dont compare to any of the above mentioned brake companies.

I can't help but look at the facts when comparing brake kits. The Alcons have broken some records installed on an Evo. I actually like the way they look. However, I feel like they are kinda played out when talking about BBKs. I am really liking the Brembo GTs after reading more about them. Also, I have to admit that they look way better than even the Alcons. It would really be a toss up between the two. I will try to read more reviews if I can find them.

I also read that the Alcons that broke all the records are not the same brakes that you receive when you buy the kit. This was a big turnoff for me. Im leaning towards the Brembo GTs after reading that. This picture is the reason I am such a fan of the way they look. Its like brake sex ever time I see this...

Good question. Under normal circumstances you dont even need to upgrade to a BBK at all. The stock Brembo's are capable of quite a bit. However, I have done some fairly hard high speed braking and I was just simply not satisfied with the amount of breaking power. It seemed somewhat unstable and felt like the brakes were working way too hard. I already have upgraded lines, pads, and brake fluid. On top of that the calipers are absolutely torn up. I would have to have more work than just a simple paint/clear job on them.
I believe I will like the gains of a big brake kit more than upgrading to a full race pad on the stock calipers, Im currently on the Forodo DS2500's. Im pretty confident that no matter what BBK I end up going with, it should be enough stoping force to satisfy my needs. I never really experienced a tremendous amount of fade, but with the larger rotor size I dont see myself experiencing any at all.

Thanks for the heads up but I think Im going to end up going with the Brembo 6/4. For some reason I just feel very safe and confident with going with the brembo's.
