I'll start out with the mod list
AEM Intake
ETS 3.5 Intercooler
ETS LICP
ETS UICP
Forge Unos BC
Walboro
Forge RS DV
Buschur 3" w/ High Flow Cat and Bullet Muffler TBE
SMC Alky
Labonte Failsafe
Not to start a war but my initial tune was a Dynoflash Custom Road Tune while in Utah. The baseline tune peak horsepower was 220 at 4000 RPM but from 4250-Redline it was only making approx. 180. This was on a Dyno Dynamics "heartbreaker" after Sharif tuned my Evo my Max was 290.5 That's a 70 horse power gain, just off tuning. When you figure from 4200 it was only making 180 I consider that over 100 horsepower gain. I was running 24-ish psi before, and once it peaked to 27. I now am running 22 and 20 at redline.
The lesson of the day is don't just let any idiot touch your car. My boost controller was connected wrong, that was done by a so called knowledgeable source. Special thanks to Dylan for fixing that. After fixing the boost controller, no other tuning they gained 20 hp. The boost controller was like when originally tuned and no mention was made of it being incorrect. If you have ever have a doubt about taking your car to Forged, doubt no more. The guys treated me with Respect and were AWESOME to work with. I will continue to do business with them and would recommend them to anyone in the market. Also special thanks to Ryan for even telling me about Forged.
Below are some pictures of the day, some taken by me and some taken by Sharif (obviously his are higher quality, but I don't claim to be a professional), and copies of the dyno graphs.
I'm not gonna trade my evo but these are some very respectable Z's

Very nice numbers! Rougly 333hp on a dynojet. I'm hoping I'd make around 320 or a DynoDynamics. Hopefully someone in Reno will get an AWD dyno....

Hey John, it was great meeting you today, and I am happy that you are pleased with the tune. I am sure it feels like a totally new car!! :)
Let us know if you need anything else, and thank you for the kind words. Next time, it will hopefully be a little cooler than 102F in our shop!!!

Im so glad everything worked out the way it did. I cant believe what a difference Sharif made on your car. As Sharif pointed out, just imagine what it may have done if the temp had been in the 70's!
For those of you who were considering having Sharif tune your car, I think this is all great comparison of what he can do to your car! :)

Here's an update with the S1s. GSC is on a two week back order to manufacture these so I am currently on a holding pattern until they come in. I tried calling many different companies to see if anybody had any in stock, but I got the same two week wait. JSC tried to sell me the S2s but you have to upgrade your valvetrain for those and that isn't something I was looking for. Oh well, I guess I just have to wait the two weeks. DAMN IT!!! Don't people know we are an instant gratification society?

What did you do with his old tails? I got some IX's that I traded a guy for straight up. He wanted my blacked out ones and I wanted his IX's :D.
I would have been on over a month wait for the GSC's as those are the ones I was wanting to go with, but had to go with the HKS 272's. Also check EvoM. I've found a bunch on there used for cheap.

I know that Greg at GSC is under a backlog for the S1s due to the high demand. Which in my eyes is a good buying point among many. I would rather wait the two weeks to get the S1s as opposed to going another route even though I was also looking at the HKS 272s.

I'm going to forged this week (hopefully thurs) for my tune! I hope to put down good power with my cosworth cams. My p0300 codes been coming up and going away like crazy since my cams. i'll post up some results after
My car made 280whp at dyno4mance with just a hallman pro mbc. Now i have a 3" tbe, intake, cams, and walbro. Hopefully i get good gains. I had to change out my hallman boost controller to a forged mbc the other day cause it was shitting on me. Boost would spike past 25psi more and more in 3rd gear. Now my forged holds boost great.

Thats weird for the Hallman. Mines been nothing but great. To be honest you probably could have just taken it apart and it would have been fine. It just seems like the spring was getting stuck. I took mine apart and cleaned it cause it wasn't going over 20psi and now its great.
280 is great with just MBC. I made 272 on Dyno4mances dyno with TBE, intake, and MBC, but thats was with a crappy tune and 9 counts of knock...

Well apparently Ryan had blacked out tails, traded them for IX's then traded those for JDM ones, I now have the ones from Dylan who traded Ryan. Big ol circle of trade

That is weird. I have the forge unos. like others[ in the beginning] I had the boost problem. I took it apart, cleaned it, and slightly coated it with red bearing grease. Going two and one half years strong. I never had to touch it since. Try that if you have not already.

Yes that is "all". Sharif did a very conservative tune. He felt that people treat alky like race gas when it isnt and have problems. It fine by me as I look toward the future in my mod path. I plan to have a HTA35R some day and the alky will allow me to run hgher boost. I originaly got alky because I was in Utah with 91 piss. You also must remember, this was a low reading dynodynamics in 100+ degree weather. In my eyes, my alky is like cams. I am around what people are making on standard dynos with the same things I have minus alky plus cams. I am happy with it, and that is what matters. it is MY money afterall.

Really not getting offended! I was just restating what Sharif said. I had that thought cross my mine as well, but figure soon enough I will have cams and run a little more boost. The alky was already on the car. Sharif did very well with my car, so I trust him. Sorry I havnt chimed in earlier Jon. To answer this question, you must first realize that Sharif's dyno is a VERY low reading dyno. 290 on Sharifs dyno very easily will make 320 or more on a standard reading dyno. I believe the alky is being used more as a safely measure to help the motor run healthier than it would on straight pump. It is not really being used to bump the power, so the numbers should reflect that of pump gas numbers, it just runs safer. If I am wrong about this Im sure someone will correct me :) I think Jon's has a very good tune on the car. If it was all about numbers Sharif could squeeze more power out of it, but he tunes on the conservative side in order to help the car run safer. I personally would sacrifice some power for safety aswell. Even with a conservative tune, these numbers are nothing to look down on. You have to look at it as "320+whp" with no cams, thats pretty impressive. Hope this helps!

Well put. Having tuned a few hundred cars over the years (with zero blow ups on the dyno), you get a feeling as to when to stop with the power/tune. The engine also ran a little hotter than I prefer, on the dyno, so I'd like to see some cooling upgrades, and upgraded headstuds before pushing it further. Enjoy!
Bone Stock Evo8's do about 185-205whp on our Dyno Dynamics, and the 9's do about 220whp bone stock..just for reference.
Let me know if you have anymore questions....thanks guys! :)

Chem also has an VIII, not a IX. The Cossies are good for the VIII, but you can get the same/close results with the GSC's w/o having to upgrade the head.
You should notice a nice drop in IAT's when you get the IC. I'm actually logging a few degrees cooler over a Bushcur IC at the same temps with my ETS and the larger turbo.

In all fairness, it was not Al that hooked up the MBC. It was this dumbass that I worked with . The main reason I am in an evo now. He went and test drove a rx-7, and I wanted to see what "these evos were about". In my GTI the mbc was inline, so I was green to the double nipple.
