I've had her on the market a couple times but ended up keeping her. It's hard to seperate from a vehicle like this.

If anybody on here knows me, then you know I race my car hard.

On a project like that, I wouldn't want to drive the car.

Just stand back and admire it as a piece of art. If anything ever happened to it... :(

Holy crap, Phil. I had no idea you had so many modifications. I see that you have great taste in aftermarket vendors. You can't go wrong with Buschur or AMS. That is a crap load of money invested. I wouldn't ever want to separate from a beast like that after I had invested so much into it. Is this your daily driver as well?

Well I'm glad to see a car build up right the first time. I hate seeing race cars having corners cut, and I can't see anything you might have overlooked.

Nothing like a half-assed project. No offense to any DSM guys here, but things always break on them. Sure they're fast in the 1/4 mile, but for maybe only one season, or even one run. You have to pay to play, and you my friend have paid your dues. That car is a monster and will hold up to anything. :p

Well I appreciate the comments guys. My car should be back in Georgia soon and hopefully I can come to a meet. I'm upgrading some things on the car right now at Buschur's shop, but it shouldn't be too much longer.

Great build. What kind of numbers are you putting down? Its good to have another high HP car on these boards! No offense to anyone else on here, but I was feeling lonely.

I'll let you know as soon as it hits the dyno. A new Tilton carbon/carbon is being installed and the Exedy triple carbon is being taken out. I never had it dynoed on high boost before so we'll see what happens.

I'm also taking out the Buschur 2.3l in it and I'm going back to a 2.0l now. They are building the 2.0l as we speak. Aluminum rods, new pistons, new crank, etc... I'll be able to rev it pretty high at the track now with the new motor. I was limited to 8500 rpms with the stroker and I'm sure the piston speeds weren't good. I had a few 9000 rpm shifts crossing the line and with the stroker motor, thats just too high.

I don't know what numbers it will put down, but if I had to guess somewhere around 550-600whp on pump gas and 650-700whp on race gas. Of course these numbers also depend on the type of dyno its rolling on give or take 30whp. After it gets tuned at Buschur's shop I'm bringing it back down here and going to do a nitrous tune.

Then I'll go to Silver Dollar or Commerce to make some passes.

This car is my toy and my DD is a 2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7l crewcab. I also have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma double cab that my wife drives, but I think we're going to trade that in for one of the new Toyota Sequoia 5.7l suv's.

You dont believe in cars that get good gas mileage do you? :D Can't wait to see that car in action. Are you having Buschur do all the tuning/dyno or is a local shop doing it?

A Mitsu and Toyota family... Nice! If you need any help with your yotas' I used to work at Cobb County Toyota and I may still have a connection or 2 there. Especially in parts... I'm not going to get into it, but lets say one of the guys there has a special place for me in his heart... :protects butthole...:

Buschur is doing all the work on my car from now on. I had it up at his shop once before and now this time.

I don't know who I will get to tune the nitrous. I might take it down to Florida and have one of the well known shops down there tune the nitrous.

I did have a lot of work done at Topspeed before, but I don't really care to do business with them anymore.

My 08 Tundra has an AFE cold air intake and Corsa cat-back exhaust. I do want to get a supercharger or turbo kit in the future for the truck.

I actually get about 21 mpg cruising 70mph on the highway so its really not that bad. If I drop it down to 65mph it ranges between 22-24mpg. Not bad for a heavy ass truck.

Im not a fan of TopSpeed at all. I have done business with TopSpeed, Dyno4mance, and now Forged Performance. Its obvious to me which is the most professional shop.

I don't know about Dyno4mance or Forged, but Buschur's shop is very professional. No BS like I had to deal with when I was using Topspeed.

Also, Dan Buschur (Buschur automotive) works on the cars so you know its getting done right the first time. Not something I could say about Topspeed. Too many bad experiences with them.

I know, I kept giving them chance after chance. I've moved on. I don't wish bad luck on them or anything, but they do need to make changes.

Enough about them, I don't want this to turn into a shop bashing thread. ;)

Agreed, just glad you've found a shop to do it right. I didnt want to ship my car out, so I decided to try and find a credible local shop. There really arent that many of them out there.

Ive heard the new Tundras can actually get incredible gas mileage and can do 0-60 in the 6 second range. Its good to hear its true from you.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your car.

I took the Tundra to Commerce and ran a 14.5 @ 96mph with a 2.1 60'. Not too shabby.

I have a few wins under my belt with the truck. It's suprisingly fast for its size.

Check it out. This is a friends IS300 with bolt ons and a 80 wet shot. The first run wasn't good and the first dig I spun horribly, but the rest of the video shows the capability of the truck much better.

Wow...mid 14s. That is pretty crazy.

I thought a SR20 power 240 with basic bolt-ons could run about 14 flat. Might be a close race.

I pulled on some Evos with it, but I could get full boost on the SR by 2500 (tiny t25).

Impressive for the stock turbo. Red top I'm guessing. 12 psi?

That's just about maxing that poor T25 out.

I'm debating which vehicle I'd start a project car with sometime next year. I believe a SR20 swapped 240sx would be a great place to start. I've also looked into Turbo Mazda Miatas, but I'm less familiar with them.

That sucks man... just waiting on a dump tube...

Burklow: At 14psi is maxing out the t25, but it's not over spinning it or making it blow hot air. Thats the peak of it's efficiency range. Even if you upgrade to the gt28 out of the S15 Silvia your still maxing that at around 18psi, but with just that turbo and basic upgrades you'll be around 350 to the wheels.

As far as turbo Miatas, my friend had a Mazdaspeed Miata that was just incredibly fun and reliable. He had a FM hardpipe kit and a customer 3' straight piped exhaust and the car was just wickedly fast (slower than my 240, but still quick) and loud as hell. Everyone thought he had a V8 in it (not joking, its that loud). It also was an incredibly capable drift car right out of the box with just some springs, but the gearing hurts it. Tops out at 130 in 6th.

If your talking about just turboing a regular Miata I believe the pre-93's actually do great with boost.

Strokedt67 - hi, i saw that you were getting rid of the 2.3 kit and wondered if you had a balance shaft elim kit for sale from it?

Ryan - If you get a chance, still want to, and still have it, please drop off the hood vent thats in better condition than mine at Forged??.thanks,
mike
