sometimes it makes me wonder man... with the way gas prices are going up, and everything else going up. i am not sure if i can keep up with the bills sometimes.
for now, yes i am keeping it. but if shit starts to get real tough i will have to get rid of it. it hurts to even think about it.

I'm in the same boat. I hope that the gas prices plateau soon. I almost can't afford to drive for the fun of it anymore. At least I have a steady job now. It was rough for a time. Not saying that the money stretches any further than it did, but it's better to know you'll get your check on payday.

yeah man... i mean i took it out today, to have some fun, i miss that car. driving the integra everyday makes me appreciate it that much more...
i have a steady job too... but cost of living is going up and my pay is staying the same... lol so i started a new job at a pizza restaurant we both (victoria and i) can get about 200 a week, and we only work 2 nights a week. so it's helping.

Every little bit helps, and I find myself conserving in other areas just to enjoy more time behind the wheel. I put $35 in yesterday and that wasn't quite 3/4 of a tank of gas. I don't drive in boost every second either. It sucks to think that the extra $200 that you're making will probably go towards gas money.

I was a sales mgr for a wholesale art gallery. The economy really hit the business hard and paychecks were hard to come by. I had been looking for another job since February. A friend told me that Kroger was hiring. I had 9 yrs. experience in a grocery store before, so I had some bargaining room. I got the job, and I am happy with the pay. It's nothing to brag about, but it pays the bills.

economy hit my job pretty hard too... we had a layoff of over 10 people in our office alone. we have several throughout the country that the same thing happened.
we are becoming an "enterprise" now and they used that as an excuse for the layoffs...
im glad i outdone other people... there were several people that had seniority over me and they all got fired because i did a better job than them... so i guess it pays off to work hard.
anyway, having a job is something to be proud of man. doesnt matter what it is. im glad you got a job though. your wife's job secure?

Keep on keeping on guys. To be honest the problems with the economy haven't seemed to hit to hard out here. Houses are being bought and sold everyday and the detailing business has never been better for me. I'm completely booked next week.
Sam's been working at another eye doctors office and has gotten her 2nd raise in 6 months (small office only 4 people including her). Not saying its easy and it has taken its toll, but it seems to be better than what I'm hearing from ya'll. I really hate that its hitting you guys so hard.

Aside from increasing prices across the board, it's not as bad when you have a stable job. The job market around Athens sucks because you have to have a degree to get a good job. The other decent paying jobs are practically fought over. It took me over 2 months to find my current job. I couldn't take a hit in pay by starting out on the bottom of a pay scale.

To be honest it hasnt really hit me that hard either Tripp. I have been very fortunate to land 2 very well paying jobs. Its just like Brett said though, the constant increase in gas prices along with everything else just adds up. It doesnt seem like the avg paycheck for most people is matching the constant rise of inflation. There are too many people out there with decent jobs who are struggling. Its just not right...
