Well yesterday I ordered the rest of my parts and its going to take 2 weeks for the ETS IC to get here as its being made right now. So i'll have a fresh IC so to speak lol. I'll be updating this thread with pics as the parts come in. They are going to be delivered to the shop thats doing the work! Here are some of the pics I've got right now.

Looks good Tripp. looks like the ported Buschur, and a green correct? What manifold is it/ Did you get the 3 or 3.5" ETS. I have the 3.5", and it is the shiznit.

The O2 housing I'm not sure. I believe its either Buschur or Megan. The Mani is a coated Megan, so it won't crack. The IC is the 3.5in. and yes its a green lol. I'm really looking forward to it. I was going to do meth, but decided to hold off, so I could get my new TV and I figured I needed to get used to the extra power from the cams and turbo lol.

Well I can gauge from experience the difference from my setup to the hp you're looking at, Tripp. However, I can't even imagine the difference in your setup and Ryan's new build.
Here's my build comparison:

Insane(Ryan) > Crazy(Tripp)

You'd literally have to bring it...halfway across the country to run him;)

Any news on how your build is going?

TripperFx3
04-18-2008, 02:35 PM
Not really. My Greddy belts have come in and so has my Cosworth head gasket. The GSC S1 cams and the intercooler will be here next week, so we should be on target for having the car in the shop by Friday.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
04-18-2008, 05:24 PM
nice! cant wait to see how it turns out. Are those Greddy belts supposed to be pretty good?

Apparently. Thats all this local shop has done when doing timing belts. Its a Kevlar belt made by Gates, so it should be pretty durable lol.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
04-25-2008, 01:51 AM
Ive heard mixed reviews about the Gates, search on evom, Ive seen some iffy stuff about it, but have never heard anything from anyone I know personally.

TripperFx3
04-25-2008, 01:57 AM
I thought I had too, but I looked at a few recent posts and it was nothing but good things.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
04-25-2008, 02:11 AM
Let me know how it works out :D I was debating getting one. Eric@AMS said the stock one was fine and that they had never had any problems with it.

TripperFx3
04-25-2008, 04:04 AM
Thats what I thought too, but I got this belt for the same price as stock, so I'm not arguing.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
04-30-2008, 05:16 AM
any update on the progress of this or are you still waiting?

TripperFx3
04-30-2008, 05:24 AM
Still waiting. The HKS's were ordered yesterday from SpeedElement, but they were waiting on a shipment as well, but he tells me they will be here either Thursday or Friday (my Greddy timing and balance belt and Cosworth head gasket came in 2 days). If all goes well my car will be in the shop Thursday night. Sam and I are moving into our new apt. on Friday and Saturday, so i'll be driving her car and the rental truck those days anyway lol.

TripperFx3
05-02-2008, 05:29 AM
HKS's came in today, so I went ahead and dropped the car off. Its costing me even more than I had originally planned as with class and finals coming up I didn't have time to install the fuel pump, so I just gave the shop to go ahead and do everything. Regardless is should be done either tomorrow or the next day.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
05-02-2008, 12:24 PM
Nice, cant wait to see it, so no GSC's huh? doing the 272s? I think I missed the part where you changed cams

TripperFx3
05-02-2008, 02:13 PM
Yea. I made another thread about it. GSC couldn't be reached for some reason and it had already been 2 months, so we went ahead and ordered the 272's.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
05-02-2008, 05:25 PM
Im sure you will like the HKS's just fine, thats what I ran with my Green, and you remember the way it pulled.

TripperFx3
05-03-2008, 01:33 AM
Oh I'm not really complaining. I just sorta wanted to get what I originally ordered. Did you have to have your head milled when you did your cams and headstuds?

em1toevo
05-03-2008, 01:47 AM
I have heard of a few people having trouble getting in contact with GSC. Doesn't suprise me.

TripperFx3
05-06-2008, 05:18 PM
Well the car should finally be done tonight! Its just going to be on a base flash for now, so the turbo can be broken in with out pushing lots of boost through it, but in a hundred miles or so it should be fully tuned and ready to rock out with its c*ck out!!! w00t!!!

BlewByYouEvoVIII
05-06-2008, 08:10 PM
you dont have to break in the turbo like that. The term of "breaking in a turbo" refers to the time it takes for all of the oil to run through the turbo enough to allow the wheel to spin more freely. You do not have to go easy on it and in fact I personally think it helps to run more boost to break in the turbo faster. Just my 2 cents.

TripperFx3
05-07-2008, 03:09 AM
Well I just picked the car up. I can def. tell a difference even though I'm only running 15psi and a base tune right now. The car actually idles VERY well! Its not near as lopey as Ryans sounded, which I'm sorta happy and unhappy about. I like the muscle car sound... Regardless I'll give ya'll a better impression of everything once I get it fully tuned come Wednesday!

em1toevo
05-07-2008, 08:02 AM
Congrats! I bet you can't wait for the full tune to really open her up and see the difference at WOT.

Tripp... Did they scratch the manifold?... From the pics it looked like it got a bit scratched up.

TripperFx3
05-08-2008, 01:31 AM
Thanks guys! They didn't scratch it. I think it got a bit scratched from the move, but it didn't get down to the actual mani, so there is still coating protecting it.

BlewByYouEvoVIII
05-08-2008, 08:00 AM
Ok, from the pictures it looked pretty scratched up. If that coating gets scratched down to the mani it may start to peel, just fyi. Make sure you take care of that thing, its an expensive coating job! I dont know if you noticed or not, but I had the same coating done again on my hotside on the 37R. I was going to do the mani, but AMS decided to send me a polished one at no extra charge, so I figured why waste a perfectly good, pretty polished mani!

Thats badass! Whats going to happen to the polished mani. when the heat hits it though?

BlewByYouEvoVIII

It should turn a nice gold color. It actually looks really badass. Here's a few pics to show you what it will look like after the heat.

Thats good Tripp, I am happy for you. Did you get ot dynoed?

TripperFx3
05-16-2008, 02:42 PM
Thank man! Unforunately there are no dynos around here. The closest one is in San Francisco (3 hours), so I just had a road tune done by a local shop that pretty much just works on Evos.

BlewByYouEvoVIII

Nice Tripp, does it feel the same as mine did when you drove it here? Glad everything turned out good for you ;)

TripperFx3
05-17-2008, 03:29 AM
Ryan, to be honest it feels a little more punchy and a little stronger. Probably due to the fact that its a little laggy and will get better like we talked about.

Thats great! Dont forget you also have the megan exhaust mani and o2 housing, which I never had installed on my car, so you may be getting some better power from those mods aswell.
