Found this on evom. My understanding of this is that the effective lift duration is different from the "272" and shows that its much more aggressive.

HKS 280
Duration: 222 deg @ 1mm lift Int / Exh
Lift: 10.8mm Int / 10.2mm Exh
Lobe Centerlines: 110 Int / 110 Exh

Revolver 262/264
Duration: 222 @ 1mm Int / 223 @ 1mm Exh
Lift: 11.4mm Int / 11.5mm Exh
LobeCenterlines: 109 Int / 111 Exh


JUN 272:
Duration: 235 deg @ 1mm Int / Exh
Lift: 10.8mm Int / Exh
Lobe Centerlines: 110 Int / 115 Exh

The JUNs have a wider LSA than the HKS by 2.5 degrees. This tends to smooth the idle and make the midrange a little less peaky, but don't let that fool you. With 235deg duration at 1mm, it's going to have a very lumpy idle and will require a large turbo and stout internals & valvetrain to get the most from it.

EVO8LTW:
If they have 10.8 mm lift, then they are comparable in lift to the HKS cams, so I wouldn't think you would need springs/retainers, except maybe to stay reliable above 7500 rpm? I had always understood JUN cams to require springs though

The reason why is not necessarily lift, but because the JUN cams have much more aggressive ramps than do the HKS cams. For example, the JUN 272s pack 235 deg of duration at 1mm into 272 deg of gross duration. Compare that with only 214 deg duration at 1mm for the HKS 272s. This means the JUN cams will open, lift, and shut the valves much more abruptly. The stock valvesprings will have a difficult time controlling the valvetrain at high rpm with these ramp rates.

it will deff be a very nice idle!! but not as aggresive as the revolvers due to the lift only being 10.8mm vs 11.5 but the juns have 235 deg @ 1mm Int / Exh duration witch is bigger than the revolvers... so in a nut shell the idle wont be as aggresive as the revolvers but deff would be more lumpy than the standard 272 cam

Im hoping mine will be running by late April, but it all depends when AMS wants to finish my motor, lol. I still need to figure out if the HTA37R prototype will be available or not, AMS said ill get the 1st one, but i dont want to have to wait 2months for it, I need a turbo now, lol. Once I get it I still have to send off the hot parts to be heat coated.

Might be equal. Like the specs say at 1mm of lift the Jun is at 235 degrees of rotation while the revolvers are at 222 degrees. So the Juns are open longer than the revolvers but the revolvers open the valves more than the Juns do to compensate for the shorter rotation. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone or if I'm explaining it right, but it makes sense to me lol. Like Mike said it may not be too different.

After more thought I was thinking the revolvers idle may actually be rougher due to the higher lift. This is how I was thinking of it, and mike, feel free to chime in if you agree or disagree with this statement. When you have a cam with that high of a lift I would assume it is open for a shorter amount of time when compared to the JUN's, but its lifting so much higher in turn I would assume it would close harder aswell, thus creating a much more unstable idleing condition. With the JUN lift beeing lower but longer, it is more consistant, granted it is open longer, but it does not have to close and hard, thus creating a longer lobe, but less violent. Does that make any sense, and is that accurate?

Mike, Im one of the original founders of the site, Dean and Thomas were the others. As far as Garrett goes my GF and his Ex were really good friends and he got really pissy because his Ex would go to the club with my GF and he started accusing me of being part of the problem when I would go with to make sure nothing happened (and I HATE clubs...). She also told me some things that he did, but she was drunk... I MEAN DRUNK!!! So I guess I can't really read into that too much. So I basically over reacted and told him off and at the time he was talking to one of my good friends sisters and I didn't want her to get hurt, so I told her what his Ex told me. Basically alot of he said she said bullshit, so I'm hoping I can see him when I'm in town and talk to him. Hes a great guy though and funny as shit!!!
