We need to get organized

I was thinking more about the idea of feeling like an organized forum. We need regular meets, maybe evoatl shirts, and regular participation from our members. I hate to see the forum grow silent for days on end.

I like the idea of an organized forum. I would definitely volunteer my services but I'm only down here temporarily and of course I am new to the area and this forum so I would probably be overstepping my bounds.

Do it... Do it... Do it! Seriously though I'll help out anyway I can. I mean the only example I can offer is the local Subaru forum here in Reno. They have meets every Thursday night at one of the casino restaurants. They average about 7-10 people a week. When I went to one there were about 20 people not including me and Sam. If we can get a few people a week to commit to go to a meet EVERY WEEK!!! Than I think that would get more people involved and interested in the forum. I personally like to meet everyone from the boards I can in person and it makes me feel more involved and I feel like I can joke around with and have more fun with the people on the boards. For the most part us "original" members know each other well enough to do this, but the new guys don't and want and should meet the rest of us.

I'm all for a weekly get-together. I usually get out of work around 4:30 and don't have much to do after that. Now that I have my Evo here I'm definitely interested in meeting everybody.

I agree 100% Tripp. It is hard for me to come up to Atl more than once or twice a month. Things can get pretty rough for me considering high gas prices, a family, and school. However, I am willing to make the extra effort to attend as many of the meets as I can. If we had organized meets, it would be easier for me to plan ahead. I really want the forum to grow. Do we need to have members pay for membership? I see other forums out there like wrxatl and s2katl doing things like that.

Why wouldn't I be Brett? I'm a car enthusiast and enjoy being around other car enthusiasts? As far as a monthly due I don't have a problem with that either just as long as it's not outrageous.

I was thinking about a small yearly fee or something like that. I know that we aren't made out of money. Maybe that could go toward group events or something. I will talk to Ryan and Alex and see what they think.

Hey guys, great ideas. I am going to start making a few changes around here for the better. Possibly adding a few more mods, and assigning some new responsibilities to everyone for a few months to try and spur our growth a bit. As for the fees, I rather not unless they are going directly towards shirts or such. I will try to work on setting up weekly meets aswell. If we can get 4-5 a week to come starting off and get that to grow, I think it would help to get a few of the new guys to become active. Glad to see our new members participating :)

I agree with Ryan. Theres no real reason to collect dues unless they are going directly to pay for shirts/hoodies/lanyards/etc.

Good suggestion Tripp! Maybe we could also assign a location per week to facilitate everybody and if there's something special planned we announce it on the board.
Would love to aspire to the level of say a BMW Club etc. Get a couple dealerships on board etc.

Great ideas guys keep them coming. Just to point out the obvious, for this to work, several of us have to participate in this consistantly, I am able to do this, in part because I really want this forum to suceed, but I dont know if the rest of you can honestly commit on a weekly basis, I would love to see this happen though.

I want to try and be more "helpful" towards this forum and the community as well. Seeing as though I don't have a sexy car atm, I could probably only pay for dues/accessories and stuff like that, and try and get peeps from other car forums to join this biotch. We'll see what happens okie dokes? ;)

works for me. As of nowI dont think anyone will be paying any dues unless we decide to get shirts or something of the sort. At that time you will just pay a set price to cover the cost of the shirts. If you want to help out more than that you can become a supporting member which has a small fee and gives you other priveleges.
