Well it happened again... My car got broken into last night. They didn't take anything this time as they couldn't cause I don't keep anything in my car anymore. But they did smash out the small triangular piece of glass on the passenger side and slash my tire, but because of how worn my tires were (still had about 5/32's) but wouldn't be with in 2/32's of the others and all 4 had to be replaced. That cost me 802 dollars along with 125 dollars to replace the window. So now all in total I have around 1500 dollars in damages.
I'm going to be suing the management company since they have been aware of this and have supposedly hired a new security company yet they know that these break-ins happen every Sunday and Monday night but the security is no where to be found. I'm also going to suing for our full deposit and the rest of the deposit to get into the new apartments we are wanting to get into. If they aren't willing to settle out of court I will make this a class action law suit with everyone else that was involved.
On a plus note Sam found the tool that they used in the 1st break in in my passenger side map pocket and they should be able to get finger prints off my rear passenger door since they would have had to grab for the handle and such. The CSI guys are going to be coming by tomorrow to pick up the torx wrench and get the finger prints. Hopefully we can get these bastards and get them in jail, so they can start working off the money they owe me by making license plates.

Yea. I know you havent seen my 1st post, but the 1st time they broke my passenger side window and tried to steal my Alpine headunit, but ended up jamming their torx wrench through the actual CD player and left everything in my car. My iPod was in visible site under my turbo timer. Not the smartest criminals. I think what we have planned (once I get the alarm) is to literally park my car right outside our window, so if we hear ANYTHING we can just jump up she'll grab the camera and get pics of them and ill run out and smash their face in :D lol

Its cool man. I've got the tool they used for the 1st break in and I'm hoping they will be able to get the prints off my rear door for the 2nd one. Like I said I'm also suing the apartments, so I should be getting all my money back and new apartment/rental house.

I hope everything works out for you. I know that kind of a process is usually a slow and frustrating one.

Well I'm hoping they'll give in to my demands out of court because if they don't than it'll be a class action suit with everyone else whose car was broken into, so they can settle with me for 4k, or settle with everyone for an untold amount, plus have to make all the changes that will be demanded (video cameras, gates, better security, something), and pay all the court and lawyer fees.
I talked to Fahim though and he seems to think I have a good case regardless and I'm just hoping the management company will see it too.

Check over your rental agreement, normally they have it in there that they are not responsible for break-ins regardless, but your best bet is to say its due to gross negligence.

Thats what I'm going off of. I mean there have been over 6 break ins (not including mine) and like I said they are happening EVERY Sunday and Monday night and the security people are no where to be found. Thats just like you said, gross negligence. I don't think anyone else is really raising hell about it like I am because it only happened to them once and think its an isolated incident, but its happened twice in a week to me. I shouldn't have to bring my car to my Dads house (over 20 min away) every night because they can't control some punk kids. I pay my rent rent for the apt. and its paying for the security company who obviously aren't doing anything because the management company is having them out at the wrong times.

before you talk to them, get evidence that they are not making their best effort. (Pictures/statements where security should be but arent). If you have a broken gate, take a picture and find out how long its been broken. Basically get things prepared before you talk to them showing you have a good case so they get scared and give in to you.

Gotcha. I just bought a disposable film camera to take pictures of my car and the slashed tire, so on Sunday/Monday night I'll take pics of the parking lot where I park and where all the break ins are happening and where they aren't. The thing is, I think the management hasn't even told the security company to be out there on Sunday and Monday nights, so they aren't but the lady that manages the apartment has told me that thats when the break ins are happening.

I know. The apartment manager (lady that takes payments and such) said something really interesting to me. She said the reason they don't have cameras is because if cars get broken into or someone rapped or killed and the cameras don't do anything they can get sued for having useless cameras. I feel the same thing would be true with their "security" company since it's not doing anything. Like I said I'm really hoping they will just give in to my demands, since if we go to court it will be a class action suit like I said and that will be bad publicity for them.
