Evo got broken into...

I never thought I would be posting something like this, but around 10:20 I thought heard my car drive off, so i went outside to check and my car was there thank god, but my hazards were on and my passenger side window was broken into. They broke my HVAC controls and tried to steal my Alpine headunit, but just took the face plate and damaged the actual unit, so it won't work. I already called Progressive and they are forwarding my claim to a local office and they'll call me before 10 tomorrow, so Ill get everything straightened out then. Im hoping they'll cover everything since its not just a broken window.

I'm wondering if anyone can give a good recommendation to a really good alarm system. I'm not wanting to skip and looking to spend around 500 dollars for it if i have to.

Gonna go get a quote myself now. I hate that shit! Only thing is that if you heard a car drive off, it means it wasn't just some random crack head. They might've trying to take the car too. Give thanks everything else is intact. Did you have the cops come over for prints?

Actually right after it happened Sam and I went and drove around the area and looked for a car that had an exhaust/muffler as thats what we probably heard. If i had seen the punks I would have kicked the living shit out of them! Thing is is that there has been a rash of brake in's in my complex, so its probably the same people and the apt. management doesn't seem to be doing anything, but telling us about it, so if they continue to do nothing I'm going to demand our full deposit back and if they won't do that i'll get everyone whose car has been broken into to boycott the complex driving away any potential new tentants :D. Im a vindictive SOB :D

I have had several cars get broken into when I was into stereos. I lost almost 8k worth of stuff total. I have no compassion for a thief. I really hope you get reimbursed, Tripp.

Well i talked to progressive and since i have a 1000 dollar deductible I have to pay out of pocket. With the money that I'm coming into this may just be an excuse to get a flip out screen. Fahim is helping me out and checking into prices. Fortunately I'm not expecting this to cost over 700 dollars if I go with my old stereo as the window will be 200 the radio (if i go through them) will cost 200-250 and the labor and parts for the new center piece I don't expect to be over 100 dollars. Another good thing is when you have a father thats hellbent on you being a full time student and not working he pays for everything, but I'm getting a summer job and will be paying him back then regardless.

Tripp, I have a centerpiece. Im assuming your talking about the center dash peice. If you remember I had mine switched out for the one with the guage pods in it. Im sure we can work something reasonable out if you would like the centerpiece aswell. Let me know.

Ill let you know. I didn't get the quote today, so once I get it and find out the prices ill let you know. The only thing is I need my car back as soon as possible because I have a rental now.

Unfortunately I'm not getting crap back. I need to call them in a few minutes and see what the estimate is. Also do flip out screens have removeable face plates of some sort? Or something that can be removed and make them unusable without them? I can get a AVIC N3 for like 600 bucks, so I was thinking of doing that.
