THERE ARE NO SPOTS REMAINING
You guys all talk big shit about your cars... well come prove it.
Dynos charts and mods mean nothing if you can't drive it...

S2kAtlanta would like to invite you all out to our first track day for 2008. It will be on Sunday April 27th at Little Talledega Gran Prix (www.tgprace.com (http://www.tgprace.com/)).
This is an excellent course for beginners and first time track goes because of it's long runoffs and short straights, 100+ mph. Don't be fooled however, the course is very demanding and requires your full attention at all times. I have not mastered that blasted decreasing radius turn!
Official timing will not take place however drivers are free to time themselves.
Requirements to run TGP are as follows:
Long pants and closed toe shoes
Snell 95/M2000 or higher rated helmet
No loose cabling or or car body parts
Car numbers (will be asigned day of event if you don't already have some, Painters tape work fine)
Special pricing forEVOAtlanta will be $200.
This price will get you a full day of track time and will get you a minimum of 2.5 hours of seat time. Estimated seat time this year will be closer to 3 hours. Payments can be made via paypal to events@s2katlanta.com.
A total of 25 spots are currently available. A minimum deposit of $125 is require to hold your spot. All payments are non-refundable, it is your responsibility to sell your spot if you have paid and cannot make the track day. Final payment is due no later than Friday April 18th or you will risk losing your spot.
Those attending need to be at the track no later than 7:00am Central time (bama time). Tech inspection will start once the gates are open and the drivers meet will start at 7:45am. If you miss the driver's meet and/or tech inspection, your track sessions will be delayed until it is taken care of.
If you plan on attending this track day, post up so your name can be added to the list. Remember, no spot is considered reserved until you have made either the down payment or paid in full.
Please let me know if you have any questions

I might seriously consider getting in on this. I need to seriously think about whether I will be track ready by then. I have a few little things to do before I get on the track.

I want to go. I will have to let you know closer to the due date though. I am epecting to have my car back in April so as long as I have it back, I will be there. There are always unexpected delays when you are doing as much as I am at once so I will not have a definite answer until later. I will let you guys know as soon as I have a better idea. I would encourage everyone to do this.
Wooo! I'll be home in time for this one! Hey, I might even have a few mods by then too...
However, I'll be playing for the other team since I'll have an S2k. Ruh roh...
I'll be there! Been wanting to do a track day for a couple of years.

I hate you all... Just wait til Reno-Fernley raceway opens! Supposed to be an awesome track! They tested the USDM Evo X there and test multiple new release motorcycles :D.

Why dont you just go over to Willow Springs or Buttonwillow? :)
Can you rent a helmet there?
No, you could more than likely borrow one from someone else or someone who has spares. Or just invest in a reasonably priced helmet.

Got any recommendations on sizes? I'd assume you're an XXL, Walter, right? J/k
Seriously, what's the typical size?

I really want to, but Reno Fernely is only 30 min away. Willow Spring/Buttonwillow are a good distance from me.
If you need a helmet I can talk to Nate (guy that drove the Yaris that went to the Dahelonga run with us a while back, but now has a brand new Mustang GT...). He works at Racer Wholesale in Alphretta and may be able to work out some group buy deal. I mean I got a 120 dollar G-Force helmet for 40 bucks :D.

Hey Walter have you gave Ed a heads up on this track day? I really want to go but i rather have another person that I know going to besides you. I should decide this week and let you know, if theres any spots available.

Well guys, it doesnt look like I will be able to make it, I just got the news that its going to be at least another 3-4 weeks to get the motor from AMS. This doesnt include time for assembly/break in/ and tuning. I think a more realistic expectation is early May now...

^That would definitely warrant a tune, lol.
Ed, why is your car running so bad right now? All you've done lately is a clutch, right?

i have no idea why its running bad, ive never been too happy with the exedy piggyback.
i am not sure what happened but yes after my clutch the car just became even worse... i think it might be because it was sitting for like a month basically one week of which it had no power at all, the battery was unplugged...
so that couldve made it worse...
anyway alan said he'd tune it for me, we're shooting for next weekend, i am trying to get a MBC if anyone has one laying around, wants to sell, donate, that'd be cool. :D

I just read this thread and it sounds like something I would definitely be interested in doing. I don't have a helmet so I would have to look at buying one as well.

You can pick up a helmet for $99.
This is a great opportunity to learn the limits of your car in a safe environment.
