Dont go VTA unless you are Speed Density. If you are using a MAF stay with a recirculated bov.

AWD Speed Density Kit is like 150. Then u need a MAF-less intake with filter. I ordered mine through ETS. I think I paid like 150 for it. Then u need to be retuned.

haha....you must of heard darrens synaptic, best sounding BOV IMO. Isn't tuning SD a little more of a headache if your setup isn't GT30 or higher because of the rapid pressure changes and what not? anyone?

All I know is OEM DV sounds like.....just that....nothing. Sleeper for sure if that's your aim. I can't stand the ricey sounding ones either (won't name any brands in case someone's running one). IMO the Synapse Synchronic is the best BOV since it's not diaphragm based (piston) and it just happens to sound bad@$$ as well! What makes mine so loud is that it's recirc from the UICP to the AGP CAI which makes it more audible (louder spool too).

Ok so I'm a ricer. I love the BOV. The sound my raceport turbosmart makes is crazy. it might have something to do with the orientation of the turbo.


The best BOV for a while was the APS twin but I don't think they sell in the US anymore. If you want the cool BOV sound then get a BOV that both recirculates and VTA's (My wife has one on her STi from TurboSmart and it sounds really good).

I'm planning on upgrading to a Synapse at some point in the future - I agree though, the sound is pretty menacing when hearing it approach from behind..

It's a VTA with a recirculation kit. So, 100% recirc when installed properly on a MAF vehicle.

i read that the IX Divertor is probally your best bet.

If you go speed density, i know a guy up here in n.c. who tunes sd well.
