Well I finally took my car to get a full tune. I have heard nothing but great things about Dyno4mance in Calhoun, GA. I scheduled an appointment for saturday made the drive up there. Ryan, Aaron, and Chris decided to go up there with me to watch. I was planning on using an Xede, but ended up with an ECUflash instead. I still ended up with a great tune even though I didn't have a manual boost controller or a IX bov to hold boost better. It was a blast to watch Andrew and the guys work their magic on my Evo. I got around a 30hp increase from before. After it was all said and done, I finally put down 271.5 hp on his dynodynamics dyno. My curve is smooth the car feels so much stronger now. I am very pleased! I haven't even had time to drive it too much since the tune. I will update the thread after I have had time to drive it more.
Here are a few random pics from the day...

Congrats Brett! I put down 272 w/ a Jestr Flash, but was getting up to 8 counts of knock. What mods did you have again? Also with an MBC and the IX DV you should be able to squeeze another 10-20hp out of it with the 10.5 hotside you've got.

I agree about the MBC and IV bov. I ran into a slight change of plans for tuning after I got there so that's why I wasn't better prepared. I owe Ryan a BIG thanks! That's something to look forward to in the future along with a set of HKS 272 cams. I only had a HKS RS intake, Megan 3" TBE, and an autometer cf boost gauge.

They had a STI up there getting tuned before me that put down 397 hp!! It was built and had a GT35. I saw it increase around 70 hp with the tune.

Always glad to help :) Im just glad you ended up walking away with a good tune. You put down very respectable numbers for the mods. Ide say a very good start.

I had had a few days with the new tune, and I love how much smoother it is. There are several things that I have noticed such as increased pull throughout the powerband and better fuel economy(believe it or not). Thanks for posting the video for me, Aaron!

Wow Dylan, I would have thought you would make more than me. I still have a long way to go to reach my goals. Slowly but surely. Sorry that you weren't able to make it up there with us.

271 at the wheels on a dynodynamics is very decent for an VIII(That adjusts to around 312hp on a dynojet by adding 15%). You will definitely feel a kick in the ass with 320-330whp. Those are solid avg numbers for a IX. Now, at Ryan's power level, an Evo is a BEAST! It throws you in the seat like an old muscle car.

Ryan's car is amazing! But I just can't feel the power as much with an AWD car. When I did minor stuff to my 240 I could feel the kick (Dylan can agree with me there :D), but when I got the Evo tuned I didnt feel too much of a difference, but when I raced a Cobra and stomped his ass I knew there was a difference :D.

Dylan I think your estimate of 330 is about right. A guy out here with a IX with all the same mods as you (He has cams though) made 333 at SpeedElement on 91 octane. Theres about a 20 hp difference between 91 and 93 oct.

I definitely feel it in Ryan's car. I think because your 240 was RWD that all the power is focused at the rear of the car as opposed to a more balanced distribution. That's why it is so damn hard to chirp the tires of an AWD car.

hell yeah!!! i can't wait. i just need to pick up the pace and get all the cars we're working on out of the shop so Sharif can make time to tune mine. Oh yeah i almost forgot!!! Forged Performance's shop evo block and crank are days away from completion and arrival from the machine shop. Soon i'll be assembling beautiful Arias pistons and Eagle rods for our short block build along with HKS cams and mild head work. A big, big, big turbo boosting the power off the charts controlled by none other then the F-CON. Without the built trans, triple plate clutch, and new front and rear LSD's, i don't see how we're going to put the power down to the wheels. im so excited!

Dylan, if you pick up 60+ with a F-Con tune I may have to invest in one of those myself, im waiting to see what numbers you put down. I am not sure you will put 330 on a dynamics with those mods though. Usually to hit those numbers you need cams.

lol I know man, but I can still dream! As long as I make over 300 on the Dynamics i'll be happy.

I talked to the man today about the F-Con and he said $3000 for the unit/install/tune. Thats alot higher than I thought it would be. Maybe ill just trade in my left nut.

lol Well if you can have the capabilities of a full stand alone and still pass emissions with the F-Con it might be worth it to me. Id be really interested to see the difference of a stock ECU tune vs. the F-con tune. Just now the tuners have become so adept at tuning the stock ECU that a standalone like the AEM EMS and Hydra and not needed.

They charged me 400 bucks I believe. Mine is an VIII as well. For IX's it might be more.

It is around $400 for a full tune-but believe me you get what you pay for!!!! Andrew is a great tuner. He has been tuning Evolutions since the Evo I came out. He told me that he has tuned around 500 Evos over the years, and that's not counting multiple tunes on the same car. He also tunes Subarus and Volkswagen/Audis really well from what I hear.
