How hard is it to install S.S. lines? I've also never flushed and filled the brake fliud before. Do I need any special tools?
Not sure how your lines are designed, the Subaru ones have some brass fittings on them and thus require a flare wrench to remove (to prevent stripping).
If there is a bleed pattern available, I would suggest you find that as well so you can flush during the install and fill with new fluid when done.

I will have to look around to see if there is a recommended method. Somehow I just knew it wouldn't be cut and dry.

It takes longer than you would think. I had mine done by Dyno4mance and it seemed to take awhile. Its harder than it appears.

Im late on this lol. As far as bleeding start farthest away from the master cylinder and move in. The lines should be fairly easy once you get in there.

the lines are pretty self expla.....as far as bleed ing goes start at the farthest corner and do the inside bleeder first then the outside one..you need 2 people, have the bleeder closed, pump 3-5 times and hold the brake to the floor....open the bleeder, do that till the fluid ooozes out or doesnt spit air out...so this is the pattern....pass rear first inside bleeder then outside bleeder, then driver rear inside bleeder then outside bleeder, then front pass inside then outside, then front driver inside then outside!! pretty easy just time consuming

Indeed. A self-bleeder can be bought at autozone for cheap. Or you could do it with your son and have him press on the brake :D

Lmao wouldn't that be funny! My son would probably have to sit in the floorboard and press the pedal. I will wait until I have some adult help, lol.

i'll install the lines for you brett. i put my whole kit on myself so i've done it before. you can also purchase Motul RBF600 brake fluid here at Forged Performance. Lots of people use RBF600 on the track and even in there daily, like myself. let me know if you'd like for me to do the install for you.

I appreciate that, Dylan. I have 2 bottles of motul that came with the brake kit. I got hawk hps pads, s.s. lines, and the brake fluid. When you have some free time, I will drive up there.

you could get a bleeder tool but its faster easier when you got a friend. to pump the system for you when you bleed.

Motive products make a great Power bleeder. Saves me a ton of time! I would reccomend line wrenchs for the fittings, just to be safe.

This is the correct order, but I don't know about the 1 hour thing ... remember to bleed the inside and then the outside of the caliper and in the order listed above. A flare nut wrench is recommended to avoid stripping the nuts. You can get a set for like $15 at the local parts store.

i did my ss lines first time it took me about 1.5 hours.
the next one i did was on charlie's car and it took me less than an hour so if i did it my self it would be about an hour.
the bleeding part took about 20 min orso... on top of the ss line time.

oh yeah on the front springs you can just remove the coil over assembly and take it to a shop with your new springs and have them install them, probobly like 20 or so bucks, idk. its a whole lot easier and safer than doing it your self. then just bolt it back up.
