View Full Version : welp guess ill build a 2.1L

So Im on my way home and i hear a ticking.... I think to myself is that my car OMFG IT IS. I immediately pull over but before I can get the engine turned off the ticking has become a clunking.... I fear the worst. I haven't been able to drop the oil pan yet and see the extent of the damage but Im assuming its gonna hurt but I prey its just a rod and a simple bottom end rebuild will fix it. Looks like Top Speed will be getting some more work. O well build it bigger and stronger.

Any suggestions on parts or different builds let me know. otherwise it will probably be a buschur 2.1L build kit

2.1 is sick nasty. Or 2.4 high revving. Seems the new trend is high compression (10:1) high boost.......I for one love that combo and hope to join those ranks in a year or 2.

And what do you think happened? Its kinda scary that just happened out the blue.

I'll be going 2.1 if I buy a kit/motor. But if I build my own I'll prob go 2.0

There's many variables. Like pump failure, injector probs, etc. But detonation can cause spun bearings.

yea im glad that it happend now and not after i sold it. id feel terrible. but yea im fairly sure it resulted from a loss of oil pressure.

more than likely oil pump failure. happend to my 93' civic hb on the autobahn in a tunnel... the germans were not too fond of me.
did you have a nasty golf ball size hole in your block?

Who knows, I will be sending the car out of state to see if that fixes that problem of it ever being ready. It just going to be a while since I am changing jobs and I refuse to go into debt over my car

Also I think I saw you 285 south last week, red evo with the transformer sticker on the rear?

no i think i got it shut down before it started to screw the block up too bad. Im just gonna have it trailered up to top speed and let them fix it ha.

Naw wasn't me. I got a silver one on some sweet ass jack stands.

That was you getting loaded onto the flatbed the other day then (on 185 near exit 15). I told Paul, there's a "black evo getting loaded onto a flatbed." He thought it was his boy MIke, I said I think it's widebody nine guy. I was correct! Sucks to hear it man....
