Apparently the planets aligned yesterday and I was able to take home FTD at the ALSCCA autocross.
My group ran second and I worked timing in the first group. I could have sworn that a Corvette that showed up from the Atlanta region (SS 99, Yellow driven by Steve Waters) had run like a 34.7 sec pass ... so that was my target.
I ran something like 36.0, 35.8 and 35.9+1.
After the morning runs (we ran a different format than usual with "3 & done" for points in the morning and fun runs all afternoon) I was just hanging out with the other T&S people talking about stuff when a group of CSP guys came over and congratulated me for running the fastest time. I didn't even know ... lol. A couple of CSP guys usually beat me.
And, the really messed up thing ... my first run at 36.0 would have still been FTD even if I hadn't improved on it.
It turns out that the Corvette and one of the CSP Miatas did run faster, but picked up cones. Hell ... I'll still take it!
Here are the results ...
Raw Times (https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/files/ALSCCA/points_06_raw.htm)
PAX (https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/files/ALSCCA/points_06_pax.htm) (Got 4th ... my best ever PAX finish)
Summary (https://axwaresystems.com/axorm/files/ALSCCA/points_06_sum.htm)
And yes ... this is a completely self-centered "look at me" post ... but I'm freaking stoked about this!
A big thanks goes out to GTWorx for the awesome springs and sways, EPM for the parts and use of the shop, AMSOIL for keeping the engine/tranny/diffs in one piece, and Kumho for making some insane tires that can take Alabama summer heat.
