The Florida Crown division of Porsche Club of America (PCA) is doing their annual Roebling Road HPDE on Sept 11 & 12th. You don't have to be a PCA member, or be driving a Porsche. I did the event last year in my Evo, and it was a freaking blast! The total for TWO days of racing is $195, or $100 if you can be an instructor. Details here:

I doubt I'll be able to make it though, as I moved to DC a few weeks ago. So a belated BYEYBE EVO ATL! Summit Point and VIR for me ;) Anyway, here's a bit about my experience at this even from last year:

Roebling is a great track if you've never done any circuit racing before. There's a ton of run-off room which makes it about as safe as any track will get. Dunno if there's any changes since last year, but in the newb and novice groups (green & blue group), passing is only permitted on the front straight, after a wave-by. In the more advanced group, passing is still by wave-by only, but is opened to the smaller back straigts for the experienced group, and in turns in the advanced groups.

Green and blue groups MUST have an instructor with them while driving at all times. If you're in this group, you'll appreciate the help from someone more experienced. They're optional in the higher groups, iirc.

There's usually a pretty good turnout as far as numbers and variety of cars go. In the green group last year, I was spanking everyone with the Evo, including a Lambo Superleggera, a GT-R, about a half dozen s2k's and 911 turbos.

Register early at www.clubregistration.net, and make sure to read this, first: https://hpdeins.locktonaffinity.com/Coverage.aspx?pID=211
Would be nice if there were more than one evo there this year ;)
