I was going to the bathroom and i saw something black on the floor, i thought it was just a bug so i didn't really care about it and after i got out from the bathroom then i had the lights on. and this thing was running on to me. i looked at it closly, and it was a fu**ing scorpion. i got scared fu** out. Then i killed it with the insect spray. shoot. never thought I could see scorpion in GA. Has this happen to anyone here?

I took the picture after i killed it.

yeah Ive had those before and may have them again, the little black ones are not deadly but if they sting you it will swell up bad, just like the cow ants, for those of you who dont know what that is its an ant about the size of a nickel thats bright orange and black and hard a hell to kill

Wow. The pussy is strong in this thread. :D Scorpions and Black Widows are in almost every single state, but they are especially prevalent in the south. If you are that serious about keeping them out of your house then I would suggest you get an exterminator to spray your house.

My parents have scorpions really bad. They are just the small ones though, like the one pictured. Usually, they are out in the open and not hard to spot, but we've found them in drawers, under pillows and on the ceiling, and then it gets a little creepy. It's not like they are dangerous really, but the sting does hurt quite a bit.

In all honesty though, I'm more on the look out for Horse Flies down at my parent's place. Those things hurt like hell!

Not too long ago I went to get in the shower and there was a scorpion running around in the tub. I just turned the water on and flushed him down the drain.

Like someone else had already mentioned, the south has some pretty cool bugs.

Every summer, our house is swarmed by millipedes. Just something about the area ... they are like 1.5" long, but come by the hundreds. We use them to track down the small spiders hiding in the garage because the dead millipedes pile up below them. I've walked outside at night to find the driveway COVERED with these things ... a couple hundred at least. Just weird stuff.

When I was stationed in Hawaii we had an 8" centipede that my wife found outside. I chopped this thing in half with a shovel and it was still trying to get away. Talk about a tough insect. I won't even begin to talk about the big ass camel spiders in Iraq. They'll give some people on here nightmares. :D

Are the Georgian scorpion venomous? I've heard of a few scorps that are not venomous to humans?

Does anybody want to test it out?

Chemwarrior

All scorpions are venomous. Now as far as dangerous to humans if memory serves me there is only one scorpion in the United States that is dangerous to humans and that is the Arizona Bark Scorpion, which of course resides in the southwest.

TouringBubble

Yeah ... it's about like a wasp sting. The venom is for hunting insects and bugs, not humans.

Rule number 1 in the South, dont leave your shoes outside, on the porch, or in the garage during the warmer months. Scorpions like to rest in them. BTW, sunfish love to eat scorpions. No floater and the smallest hook you have will do the trick.

Found one before in my "spare" room, my son was about 6 months I think, on the ground playins and it was crawling towards him. I was like, where the hell did this thing come from. I got it just in time.....

I would say they have some irradiated soil. I expect that grub to turn into Mothra and start knocking down buildings in downtown Atlanta.
