i've been a lurker on this forum for a while now. i was just trying to find out any information anyone might know about this car i bought. i got it from rick case mazda used cars. it was serviced and bought original from rick case.
things i do know from looking around
exhaust has never been off
right front fender and hood has been painted
rear struts have never been off.
rear sway bar has been off
doesnt look to of had any bolt ons but i could be wrong
car has definately been driven hard but i knew that before i bought it.
looks like something was bolted in the trunk
car has 49xxx miles
tranny was replaced at 16xxx, from rick case service records
clutch was replaced around the same time tranny was replaced.

clutch bearing makes noise, is this normal? also i am getting some clutch chatter. especially in reverse.

also when shifting gears rather fast, when getting back into the gas, is it normal for a clunk to come from the rear diff

i dont know too much about the car but i am learning a lot. just want to get this thing top notch so it will be ready for my abuse lol
so yeah, its a ww evo ix rs. any help or info is appreciated

and here's the car
sorry for cell phone pic

That is the perfect platform to build an evo. I'm not sure what to tell you about the tranny/clutch issues. However, if you got a good deal, the car is definitely worth it. WW RS evos are hard to find.

1st of all congras!....love WW!!

"clutch bearing makes noise, is this normal? also i am getting some clutch chatter. especially in reverse."

the clutch bearing makes noise when clutch is released and in neutral... yes i've had it in my old black evo with stock clutch...

its your driving... it does tend to make a clunk in the rear when shifting hard... you'll get use to working around it and still being fast.. lol

but u could also do this

YUP, dont have much plans for the car yet, wheels and coilovers for sure. i've been driving a piece of junk 240 for the past 6 months, so the car is fast again to me lol.

thanks for the advice. i am gonna try to get the clutch replaced under the 30 day 1000mile warranty i got for free with the car.
i figured it was just hard driving making the noise from the diff.
and this is my first white car and i am sooooo in love with white now

Very Nice. I believe I saw that car @ Rick Case along with a silver X. The service manager was told me that the WW iis bone stock and the X had 700hp(ya right).

-I'd advice you replace t-case fluids asap and get t-case inspected .
-Replace all fluids starting with transmission, rear case and coolant.

service manager told me about the X, said it had like 50k in it. i didnt ask to see it cuz i figured he was full of it. lol

under a factory mitsu warranty, who has to do the work? a certified dealer or mechanic? the car is still under factory warranty. so def. getting the t-case checked is a good idea. and changing all fluids is already on the to do list.
thanks

You can change your own fluids and still retain the factory warranty. I would suggest holding onto your receipts just in case they try and give you some shit though.

The door handles have definately been painted over. they are a slight different color and not as glossy.

i know all this stuff could be changed to look like an rs but it has rs floor mats, no carpet in the trunk except over the spare wheel, and black mirrors with door handles that were def. painted over by a previous owner.

and arent rs factory wingless? dont kno this for sure

wingless, no abs, manual locks, mirrors, and windows, no rear wiper, black mirrors and handles, no sound deadening material, Aluminum hood, fenders, and roof, rear trunk bar, no radio or speakers, no hids or fogs...

I actually bought a house off old fountain, right at the end of prospect. There is a red VIII in the neighborhood. Maybe sometime next month we can plan a Evo cookout at my house, plenty of parking! Let's do it!!
