So I am doing some DE's at Road Atlanta with the PCA. I am finally installing my SS brake lines, performing pre-track inspection at the dealer, bleeding the brakes, and changing the oil. My question is, what tire pressures should I be running cold before I go out. And what should I try to maintain once they get hot. I am running OEM sized star specs. Also I will have a easy up tent for shade, Compressed air tank, tire gauge, chalk, extra 10 gallons of fuel, extra oil and fluids, and drinks. Is there anything I have forgot? Thanks in advance!

Hey man,

We will be up there with the Porsche, you should swing by.

on the Star Specs I would say to start them around 32-33psi and see what they are at after your first session. You want them around 40psi or so hot. I have them on my BMW and ran them 38psi front and 39psi rear hot, seemed to be the best combo for that car. The AWD Evo is going to respond alot different, but that will give you a starting poing.

I wasn't sure what track cold pressures should be. Autox I start cold 36 front 35 rear and gain about 4psi after a run. I thought it was ahold idea to run slighly higher pressures at the track to prevent from rolling over on the side wall at high speed. Thanks for the help, I will probably be up there with Bob from Goldcreast. Unfortunatly I signed up a little late since I had to get my Saturday shift covered, so I am the second car on the wait list. Ugh! But I have some pull here at the dealer so I hope I can make it out. This will be my first event so unfortunatly I will have to run in Group 1. But at least I am using my car as intended.

Thanks Craig b

Absolutely man. Most of the time tires gain a little more heat on a road course than on autox, plus its suppose to be HOT. Thats why I figured starting a bit lower, and after the first lap you should be good. However its not going to hurt starting at 35ish, they may just get a little hard after you put the heat to them.

Speaking of tire pressure...I'll be at LTGP tomorrow morning and running a set of NT05's (255/40). Would you recommend starting out at 35psi (cold) like the Z1's?
