haha.... so you would run the synapse again?? the say its awesome at holding boost/not leaking... also was it loud when it vented? not really looking for something ricey..lol so far the size does seem like the only downfall from what i have read

I use the stock IX valve, but I'm skeptical of it's holding capacity at my boost level. When I change, it will likely be to the Synapse, or maybe the GFB Stealth FX if I'm feeling ricey.
the Synapse is a great valve, but yes, bulky. It's hard to fit on to an UICP w/ the full size battery in place. The response is great and it holds LOTS of boost without tons of preload, which is good for the car. I highly recommend it.

I was running 28 psi with no drop or leaking on my FP green on a crushed IX valve.

Crushed IX BOV. When I upgrade im going with the TIAL. Holds a ton of boost and nothing sounds better than a TIAL under a lot of a boost.

The Synapse Synchronic is a very nice choice. The only Bov I've yet to have complaints about. Except the fact they're now distributed by Vibrant in Canada. Lol.

It actually sounds good to me. It's got that metallic sound that other non-diaphram valves have, but a little more muffled. The "flutter" on release sounds a little like the Greddy Type-S in terms of speed.

I'm currently running a IX BOV as well.
Has anyone tried the Turbonetics Godzilla? I've yet to come across someone that has it.

GReddy Type-S (old school, I know). It's the only bov I've ever bought. Has been on the car since 2004, problem free!

I was between the synapse and the tial I ended up going with the tial. Love it with zero issues hold boost perfectly.
I've seen the synapse and those puppies are pretty damn big lol. I've heard great things about the APS twin vent
Whatever you do, do not ever get a turbosmart 50/50, horrible experience

I'm running a Tial. I had the APS twin previously & only upgraded cause I went SD and was switching from recirc to VTA. Why are you thinking of switching the APS out?

I disagree. I ran the turbosmart dual port on my X for over a year with no problems whatsoever. Worked very well holding pressure (I ran up to 28psi) and it sounded great!

oh i'm not saying it didn't hold pressure well becuase it did that just fine but i'm not sure how they are on the X's but running in on the IX and given the hood vent and the lovely weather we get up here in the northeast that trumpet serves a dual purpose as a water collector as well. The brass piston eventually seized up inside the housing. Has happened to a good amount of guys I know personally. I loved it till that happened

Oh wow! that sucks. yea, the X's def. dont have that problem, as it's in a different position.

yeah tell me about it, took me 4 hours to finally figure out it was the piston that was seized. I was in the middle of road tuning and the car wouldn't boost past 22 psi I was WTF!?!? after all the trouble shooting and finally a hammer to wedge the piston out needless to say that bov was shot lol. It's a faulty design for the Evo VIII's and IX's IMO.
