I acquired this back in 2003, it had 158,000 miles on it already. It was bone stock and seemingly well taken care of.

Drove it stock up until 193,000...when I installed 2004 STi shocks on it, kept the stock outback springs and other stuff on it...so, it was still 'stock' but with better shocks.

At 200,000 the weak-ass headgaskets finally blew. Replaced. Around 205,000...I started moding it.

Ebay coilovers, 17x7 ADR wheels and ContiSport Contact 2's in 245/35/17.

I autox'ed in successfully locally in STX and STS. Next came the Borla Header and RandomTech high flow cat, and an STi muffler.

At 236,000 it decided to start randomly overheating. I got an 05 RS and then Outback sat for the next year...slowly going back to stock and in other conditions that rendered it non-running.

Finally, a few months ago I put the exhaust back on, replaced the rear bumper cover and properly fixed the STi muffler so it would not melt the rear bumper cover.

Update, 12/4/2007:

Looks like it's in great shape to have that many miles. You must really take care of your cars.

It was in great shape when I got it.

It does have some major flaws now...

I had a work van run into my left rear door, so its all fubar'd now.
A few more dents here and there from parking lots.
A nice long scratch down the drivers side from road debris.
I had to roll the front and rear fenders to fit 245/40/17 Contis, so...flaky paint there.

After I get it running/suspension done...I'll be replacing the door with a nearly flawless one that I have, but its green, and then I'll have it all repainted. I will be doing away with the two tone and go solid dark blue.
