5th Gear :(

My 5th gear syncro is bad, in my 2003 evo. Anyone know any trusty shops that DONT charge an arm and a leg haha.

I bought the car used and it has 132000 miles on it lol, but other than this seems to drive fine.

But like i said, if anyone knows anything or a good shop someone else MAY have went to, let me know.

topspeed, zen, forged .. all are good shops, best bet pulling the tranny urself sending it off to buschur or shep.... not bad for 132k tho... my old one 3rd and 4th went bad at 25 ish

I suggest this as well. I thought my fifth gear synchro was going out but after changing fluids it worked wonders. Don't get me wrong, your synchro might be going out but an oil change should help with it temporarily. I would suggest using Redline MT90 though.

My 5th gear synchro has been bad for about 30k now and the car drives fine i just have to be easy on 5th gear...What i'm doing is waiting till i move back to ohio and have BR rebuild mine. Jon (Evolvedgti) had his tranny done by them, i drove his car and really enjoyed it. but i would just save your money do the oil change and send it off when you get enough cash, and time.

I would like to know this too. i sometimes get a slight grind going from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd......would like to rebuild before it causes more problems
