Okay, I just recently installed an aftermarket steering wheel on my Evo 9 thru one of our local car tuning here in Atlanta (Forged performance). And the guy who installed it did a very good job however the SRS light went on after the installation and he told me just to go to a local Mitsu dealer and they can reset the SRS light and turn it off. I can go there but I'm kinda worried if the dealer will do that for me because there's no more airbag in the steering wheel and I understand it is illegal without an airbag.

I Read it somewhere in the evom forum not very long ago that you have to put a resistor in order to fool the SRS light, but I can no longer find it, can you show me where the link of the aftermarket installation in the evom forum or around the internet please? And where can I buy that resistor? Thanks!

My SRS came on for no reason. I dunno the resistor trick either....

theres your problem. :P j/k.

the light came on because you dont have air bag anymore.

you should be able to bypass the airbag sensor. unfortunately i have not messed with my steering wheel and do not know how evo's system is hooked up.

but i do know that dealer will not turn it off for you since if they turn if off for you they can be sued for disabling the system. (which they didnt)

That's why I'm hesitant to go to any mitsu dealer.

My SRS also came on my past vehicle and it wasn't a Mitchubichi. I solved the problem by soldering a 2.2 Ohm resistor to the connector & the problem was resolved.

Try a local bodyshop, transmission shop with a DLC scanner any the 'might' be able to reset it.

if not to the dealership you go

Thanks! I called the Mitsubishi dealer and they told me once the airbag is gone then there's no way they can turn-off and reset the SRS light.

I read in the evom forum a while ago that there's a resistor that can fool the SRS light. So probably the resistor will solve my problem.

just take out the bulb.

you dont have the airbag so the light is gonna do you no good anyways.

They said theres a resistor that can fix the SRS light but I don't know where to get it.
