Currently I am running factory sizing of the dunlop star specs. I plan on running a few track events and autox's in the up coming year. What tires are good for daily driving and for the activities listed above. I am even considering getting a second set of wheels for track/ autox. If that was the case what street tires are best? FYI my current issue is since putting Hawk HP plus pads and DBA rotors I notice on my RS (no ABS) that I am locking up the rear brakes with moderate/heavy braking and the fronts lock under heavy braking. I have a pretty good feel for when this happens, but is it possible that my tires are not grippy enough to keep up with the new brakes? I would hate to flat spot a brand new set of tires. So to recap, best DD/driving event tire, best street legal track tire, and would new tires help in prevent brake lock up.
Thanks Craig

Thanks Ryan! Would that be ok to DD with as well? Do you use ABS on you TT car?

They are designed as a street tire. I DD's these on my IX MR. They lasted me 18k miles with 2 track days and would have lasted longer if I had been smart and rotated my tires. I wore out the inside on the fronts from too much camber and still had 40% tread left in the back. They grip better than any other true street tire I have driven on to date.
I do use ABS for the time being on my TT car, but also am running Toyo R888s on that car.

Also to reply to your question about lock up, I am pretty confident it is due to no ABS. Grippier tires will help, but may not fix the issue.

is there a way to adjust the bias?

I know that Tilton makes in car bias adjustment knobs, that pair up with their proportioning valves. So racecars can adjust front to rear brake bias on the fly during a race. i don't think there is a bolt on replacement, so some custom brake lines might need to built.I just want a little more front brake, and a little less rear.

Craig, I have Bridgestone RE01R on the car as DD tires. They are great tires. RE11 is the replacement for RE01R and I'm sure they are the same if not better. They are great tires for DD as well as some track/auto X.

i saw someone on evom talking about locking up the rear brakes during a hard break at the track after adding good rotors and hp pads and he was asking about adjusting the bias...

Get the RE-11's. If money is not an issue this IS the best dual purpose tire.
