I went to install the AMS Widemouth Down pipe and was trying to get the O2 sensor off. Is it normally reallly really difficult to take off. I stopped torquing on it because i was afraid i was going to break it. Any advice?
Thanks,

Soak it with some pentrating oil if you have to would be my guess. Also you could try and get it when the sensor threads are not expanded for lack of better words cause my mind went blank. Cant remember if metal does this when its cold or hot but one of the two should work. But they can be a pain in the rear!

Soak it in PB Blaster overnight. They are a bitch to break loose. It's still gonna take a good bit of elbow grease to get it off. Good luck.

OK, I'll definitely purchase that wrench. So me feeling like I was going to snap the sensor was probably 3 or 4 pounds away from breaking it loose, or just pulling a glute lol. I'll so it it in pb blaster tonight and torque on it in the morning.
Thanks,

I used a pipe wrench to get mine off after soaking it with PB Blaster. It also helped to have it resting on the ground so that I could get better leverage.

i just use my fingers... you have to run the car at full throttle for about 30 sec before...
if your finger dont sizzle you aint doing it right

PB Blast and leverage. They are all a PITA to get off. Not just you. Good luck.
And I wouldn't worry about breaking it ... you're more likely to round off the hex. Invest in that socket.

everyone should have a 02 sensor socket in their tool chest.
i used mine when i did my exhaust x3, wideband x2, o2 housing, turbo related x4.
so it paid for itself already...
