Hey whatsup everybody! As the title says, I need a remote person(s) who know's how to uninstall/install timing belts for my Evo8. It's that time to replace the belt and and I am not experienced in doing any timing belt replacements. Currently, the car is being garaged and the weather is getting warmer which is nice! Would prefer not to take it to a dealership or move it elsewhere to have the belt replaced. Looking for some hired help; will accomodate for food and drinks and the cost for your labor. I know it'll take more then one person for the job to make it easier. Let me know if anyone can offer me some help. Planning on buying a new belt soon; any recommendations? Kevlar? OEM? No plans to go super fast; ultimate goal is probably mid 12's in the future. Mileage is @ 63k just sitting as a project for now. Gotta get all the maintenance done first before anything extra. Would like this belt replacement done before summer. No rush here, hit me up and send me a pm if anyone has any interest. Thanks for your time.

I would recommend Zen motors. Trey is on here quite often.

You can't go wrong with either shop. When is it recommended that the timing belt be replaced?

The 60k maintenance is the recommended time to replace it. Mitsubishiparts.net (Russell) on Evom sells a complete 60k maintenance package.

Thanks guys for your input! Planning on doing the 60k maintenance before or during spring! I'm trying to keep my mileage low so my car can last for years and years by my side. So far, Mike.P recommended me a OEM belt since I'm not planning on going really fast. Anything beyond 12's is just too much in my import world. I'd like to savor the adrenaline while the rpm's still rise. haha Thanks again guys.

for sure anything beyond that is just over kill.. no need for a $150 timing belt if thats all you plan... and my buddy has almost 100k on his original timing belt..lol but when changing the timing belt it would be a perfect time to throw some mild cams in that retain the stock valve train

100k on his original belt? Isn't that wreckless driving? haha
