As the title states some stoned douche bag rearended me on the on ramp to the freeway... He hit me maybe going 15 mph, but it was enough of an impact to where it screwed up my rear bumper, bent the clips on my taillights, so they don't line up, pushed my exhaust in, so I now have an exhaust leak and for some reason my transfer case started to whine after the wreck. I just changed the fluid in it and it seemed like there was barely any in it and I still have the slight whine, so it may have cracked the tcase somewhere. The good news to all this is I'll more than likely be getting some good upgrades. I'll be getting a JDM rear, probably a Blitz Nur Spec exhaust, and the taillights really aren't that bad to where I'll replace them, but I'll def be taking that money along with the money I'll get for the new tcase and probably just get a shep one.
I'm meeting up with the adjuster tomorrow and we'll go from there. Regardless it just sucks because I'll be driving a rental for a while and my baby will be out of commission for a bit :(

That sucks, Tripp! I have been there myself about a year ago. Just make sure they don't cut corners when you're having the repairs done. My estimate was around $2500. Honestly, it should have been for more. They still didn't get my trunk to line up exactly right.

Thankfully the guy that hit me has the same insurance as me (Progressive) and in my dealings with them they're normally pretty ignorant and just give me what I want. Also the body shop they suggest is the most expensive in town and they like to get all the repairs they want. I could tell them my lip fell off in the accident and they'd say I needed a new front bumper lol. So since its not on my dime i'll let them do what they want as long as its not leading to totaling my car for a 15 mph rear ending lol. Like I said the main thing I care about is getting the bumper replaced, a new exhaust and getting my tcase fixed. Its honestly baffling me how the tcase is making noise, but I think its cracked. I changed my fluid today to see if that would fix the noise and there was barely any fluid in there, so I think something knocked it in the accident and cracked it. Just looked up a new tcase on mitsuparts.net and they want 29xx for it and I'm sure it'll cost more from the dealership and a new one with a helical diff in it from shep is like 3000, so I'll just buy that and pay my buddy to install it for me and pocket the difference. My buddy was in the car with me when it happened too and he'll attest for the noise not being there before hand and then being there after the wreck, so I have a "witness" on my side as well.
Joey... I like the way you think! ;)

Damn Tripp. That sucks! If you don't get what you want I would also think about singing the "my neck hurts" song. Sometimes injuries can appear days after the fact. :D

Igronant people who cant drive the correct way. Cant they see what we are doing for the Evo Community yet alone the CAR community, keeping a precious gem on the streets is hard these days with clowns being able to drive! Good luck check with the body shop often if I may put in some words of suggestion. I would even drop by unexpectedly if I were you.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The damages aren't that severe. Like i said the biggest thing is the tcase. I talked to the adjuster yesterday and she said unfortunately I have to wait to put it in the body shop and basically wait for the other guy to admit hes guilty since we both have progressive. I can go ahead and put it in the body shop and pay my deductible and it will be reimbursed to me later, but I don't have the money. I'm going to actually have progressive look at it tomorrow and hopefully they should have everything straightened away from the other party.
