What a dumbass! He should have just hit the bird. It would have been cheaper to fix.

Concur. That's assuming it was actually a bird and not him leaning down to pick up something. It didn't look like he swerved but inclined to the right instead. I know if I was trying to avoid something in the road at that speed I would have veered hard.
