I allowed my brother to drive my EVO X because I had to go play in the sandbox for a year! I believe the idiot destroyed the clutch because it slips when your in gear like there is a flat spot on the clutch. He thought he would be able to fix it before I got back and he has a SPEC Clutch sitting in my room, he's waiting for the money for the aluminum fly wheel from SPEC. Any ways its been sitting in the garage since May 15th, is there anything I should do in order to not screw up anything more. I know oil change at the dealership? The dealership is roughly about 30-40 miles out. ANy advice? My brother said he knows a shop (doesn't work on imports specifically) charging 800 for install. Kind of scary not taking it to a specific shop that works on these cars.
Thanks,

First of all Welcome!
If he's pretty technical about the car, here is a link for how to change clutch posted on Evoxforums. Otherwise, I'd suggest him to go to some of the shops here. Ryan @ Forged probably can hook him up for a good price.

I would highly suggest having your brother take it to a EVO shop. Where is the X located? He could take it to Forged performance in Marietta. if its more north, check out Dyno4mance. Since you have a X, i wouldnt take it to anyone whom hasn't worked on the X at all.

yep couldnt agree more. only thing is that the X is totally different when compared to yalls cars. pretty much everything so far has been and including the clutch lil bit move involved than the 8 or 9's so the time may take a lil longer

Hey, and welcome to the boards. Please give me a call at the shop and we can arrange a time for you to come in for the clutch change if you would like to bring the car to us. We have done a great deal of work for many of the members here on the forums. We would love for you to bring us the car and let us do the work for you. We specialize in these cars and I believe would be better suited to complete this job than another shop not familiar with imports.
Give me a call at 770-792-0202

Btw, welcome to the forum. I would definitely check out Forged or Zen Motors. Both know their way around an Evo.

Pretty recently. I'd say prolly in the last couple weeks or so. Andrew is still doing some work out of his house though.

if you pay someone over $450 you are paying too much for the install.

no "tuner" shop will do that.
you have to go to your local auto mechanic shop that is good.

Thank you for the information, I'm south to southwest of atlanta by 25 miles. Marietta isn't that bad of a drive, I'll be up there this weekend and hopefully will be able to check out Forged. Ryan I'll call you this week and figure something out. Zen I sent you an email as well. I need to get this car out running because I miss it!
Thanks.
