Started Project X

well as some of you guys know i been patiently waitin to start my lil project... i've been gatherin parts over the last couple of months and finally got word that the last piece of the puzzle was almost ready :D so me and Andy decided to get the ball goin today and start takin shit off. i think we had a pretty good day. as it was a first, pretty much for the both of us working on the X. took our time and made some progress. here are some pics of todays work.. stay tuned for updated pics as things continue to get done...wanna thank Andy for all his help :D


we got the turbo, exhaust manifold, 02/downpipe. off today along with the old intake mani off and installed the MAP ported intake mani with some new DW 800cc injectors along with all the small stuff on the intake mani like hiding some wires and a boomba racing intake gasket

yea man its the Rev3 IM.. na i ended up finding one and i sent it in. it took them about 3 weeks they were slammed with stuff so just depends on how busy they are, i've had it done for a couple of months now. so i have 2 IM now lol. along with 2 Ex mani's lol.

well i managed to get a lil more progress done today. not a hole lot but some lol
i added the front grill mess on the drivers side today. for those with and X they know what ima talkin about how one side dosent match the other side. so i ordered the "JDM" piece to clean things up a lil bit.

also started tearing apart the inside today also... took out the center console to install a few new goodies :D. had to take out my boost and wideband gauges along with the wiring because i am goin to relocate them on the A pillar. also had to remove some of the trim around the door to get to the A pillar. took off the A pillar to replace it with a custom A pillar. see the airbag hiding behind the A pillar kinda neat. so NO if in a accident the A pillar will not fly off and hit me with the gauges lol there is a cable type material that holds the A pillar in place for case of an accident. only allows A pillar to move out about 5 or 6 inches. that gives the airbag enough room to deploy down beside the window.

i ordered mine from JNZ tuning....they have fast shippin too :D yea i think it helps clean up the front end and finsh the grill.

Yes sir I'll be one of the firsts ones having this type of turbo so dunno what really to expect besides some awsome gains so we shall see Ima pretty excited about it! But wouldn't be possible without some great help 

well i havent had much time to get anything much done this week. i did get a lil bit done tonight. i took off both lower control arms to install the roll center kit and the lower control arm bushings from whiteline. wasnt as bad as i had expected so thats a plus... hardest thing was getting the tie rod ends broke loose. nothing a lil PB blaster and a hammer cant handle :D here are a couple pics and a pic of the new kit thats goin in. for sure be time for an alignment now lol

well....we didnt get to much done this weekend. took alot longer than expected on the roll center kit and contol arm bushins. but we finally got them in. involved a lil blood but its all good :D got some wiring run and ready to hook up as well.. also cut and added some wires to clean up the engine bay just a lil as well. should be gettin interesting by this weekend i hope :D

well we've made pretty good progress over the last couple of days... me and Andy got the fuel pump installed or more like Andy did lol. pretty easy car just smells like GAS.
as most of ya know dyno4mance has went out of business and they were suppose to install my cams for me. so i was shit i guess im SOL. but Andrew kept his word and told me he'd still install my cams for me!!! and hell Andrew and his partner even come to my house to install the cams for me. i thought that was pretty nice of them. i've read so much on how hard the cams were to install and honestly i didnt think it was to bad. that is if you have the right tools :D went ahead and upgraded the valve springs as well so i wouldnt have to ever worry about them. hear are a few pics of the new fuel pump and the Cossy MX1 Cams and valve springs.

Yeah, where your "main" portion is low in the pump assembly. Our pumps goes from top to bottom in the middle. I bet mitsu designed the X's that way so when the fuel gets low, the pump is lower in the tank, thus staying cooler. Looks like they learn from there "mistakes"

lol, It's not really Rynos cars fault but it did contribute. :D I slammed it in the door of my sister-in-laws 4Runner about 2 weeks ago. Then last week I smashed it on something werkin on Rynos car & later that day a wrench slipped & I jammed it into something on the suspension & cut a big chunk out of the tip. And then yesterday while over there I went to grab something & caught the nail, pulling it back some more. When I got home last night it was only barely hanging on in one corner so I just yanked it off.

nah, i meant it's about time since I heard anything ANYWHERE about the cbrd turbo upgrade for the 10's. Last I heard from them was... february i think? This is the first time i've actually seen the end result. have they released this to the public yet?

Looks like a stock x housing with a new compressor and turbine wheel? the wga dones't look like the factory one, either. intake and exhaust look ported, too. basically, a bbk kit for the 10, right? and how the heck did fp get one :D

yea its pretty much what you said there. stock housing with new compressor and turbine wheels different WGA and ported intake and exhaust housing. so yea basically a kit for the X. havent been released to the public that i know of. and yes its awsome to know people that know people lol. good to have friends like Ryan that will go to any measures to make the customer HAPPY

well like andy said we gots alot done over the weekend but dont really have alot of pics of everything we done. got all the wiring done, got my A-pillar and gauges mounted, got my twm shifter put in along with AMS bushings, painted the AC lines so they dont stick out so bad behind the bumper as well. and andy fixed my lil boo-boo that we just wont show pics of lol. here are some more

No its not supposed to be like that. Thats how it was on my green and I had to sinch it up a good bit, but feel free to install it like that as long its easy to get to the wastegate arm. All its held on by is a metal clip and then you can just screw it tighter. Since that is the preload if its all the way tight then you could possibly be running 30 psi w/o using even the boost controller lol.

well guys i finally got around to postin up some updates lol. sorry i have been super busy with work and havent had much time to mess with the car. everything is back together and the car is up and running too. still waiting to get a tune, which i am gettin this coming wednesday....and i cant wait. in the mean time here are some pics of the progress.....
