First night at the drag stip with the red...all I can say is, that I suck at drag racing. I couldn't manage better than a 1.9 60ft and I kept missing shifts...not to mention I shift slow as hell.

Ended up with an 11.8 at 120...slower than when I was on stock turbo but oh well. :(

Anyway, if I wasn't bogging off the line, I was spinning through first. My limiter is set to 5500 which was fine, but I couldn't quite find the right boost lvl to launch at.

Anyone with the red have any recommendations?

I really think your 2 step is set to low. I launch at 6k with a Green and that's about perfect. I cut 1.7, 1.8 60 foots and I forgot to drop my tire pressure and I was hella spinning out the hole. I was hitting consistent 11.9 to 12.0. Keep in mind that's on 91 and 4500 ft. So try raising your 2 step to 6k or even 6500. Just be very careful launching that high. Also you have a shit ton more power, so your going to spin more like you said, so dropping the tire pressure and maybe getting better tires will help.

Yes, what Tripp said highten the 2 step. What are your tire pressures at? should be 20-22lbs each.

Wow, I didn't even think about checking the tire pressure. I was on my autoX R compounds (BFG R1's) on stock wheels. When I initially had them put on, the tire pressure was aroound 35psi.

My stock wheels are way heavier than my 18s, should I have left them on?

Also, I was bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th before I crossed the line. I think my red line was changed from 8000 to 7500, won't know for sure till I go in with my laptop and check. But will I be able to ride out 4th with 18's on compared to 17's? Or will it be better to go into 5th?

I would say you want the lighter wheels on for sure.
yeah 35psi is way to high for drag.

My tuner told me I should be good for 11.3,11.2. that area, while we were playing around after my last tune. Unfortunetly, I have been unable to test this 'theory' out as I have been in North Dakota since 3/26. With all things considered though, I feel you should be low 11's, maybe even 10.9 with the perfect pass. Drop those tire pressures and go get that pass. ;)

Also, what was your trap, and 60'?

60' -- 1.925
330 -- 5.105
1/8 -- 7.796
MPH - 92.46
1000 -10.059
1/4 -- 11.867
MPH --120.68

Slowest of the night was 12.4 missing 2nd and bogging.

Now I'm convinced my cluth pedal needs adjusting because it's difficult to get into second at high rpms. I really have to man handle the shifter to avoid getting locked out.

Which clutch? I used to get locked out on my ACT 6puck. The 1-2 shift is the most important. Your mph is there for low 11's.

Exedy Twin.

I had lockout issues with my old ACT. This one is more off and on. To be honest, it's probably more me than the clutch. My old ACT slipped alot, the exedy is rock solid. Combined with the built tranny and transfercase, I feel confident that the drivetrain isn't what's holding me back. I need alot more seat time.

Nice, I have the same clutch. Practice makes perfect. I can't wait until next year. If my plans work out, I will be home ALOT more = More racing, less reading about it ;)

Hope I can join you gentleman at the track next year!

So many variables could cause your issues.

What rpm are you shifting at in each gear? You might be getting locked out so try a little lower.

Do you have a dyno chart of your power band? What kind of dyno? You need to shift within your power band and not after.

Try raising the limiter a little. Sounds like you just need practice.

What type of fuel are you using?

Start your tire pressure around 25-26 psi and work your way down. Each track is different and if you drop it so much as 1 psi too low, you could wheel hop. You don't want that. Some spin is better than none and bogging. If you start the psi off too low, then you have to try and find an air hose, gauge, and waste time getting the pressure up. Much easier to start high and work it slowly lower.

It's constantly changes depending on weather, track prep, ect...

Pump/Meth shifting at 7500

when i launch i rarely use the 2step.

i just rev to 4000 orso... and then slip and when it starts to pull you let go of the clutch.

it works for me. the trick is to start moving when the light is on the 2nd last llight so you will launch when the light turns green.
