Where: Taco Mac at Perimeter
1211 Ashford Xing
Atlanta, GA 30346
678-336-1381
When: Oct. 18th
Time: TBA
Looking at the get-together section of the board, I must admit, it's definitely slacking compared to the two previous boards I used to frequent (s2katlanta & mx5atlanta).
While I think of a place to meet, I'd like your feedback on which day of the week would work best for you as I'm sure everyone has different schedules. I also noticed that the majority of the members are from the northside so it looks like robb86 (if he's even interested in participating) and I may be the one commuting.
Would you guys prefer to grab some food or find some place fun to hang out (D&B, etc).
Since I'm considered a 'noob', this will be a good time for me to get faces with names as well. :)

I totally agree. I am coming from s2ki.com and nobody does meets better than the s2000 crowd. My guess your a previous s2k owner like myself. I am down for Friday and Saturdays. I don't get home from work till around 6, in Greenville we used to meet every Tuesday at 7.

The feel bad...I stay by the airport!! But I'm free Friday to Sunday. It's been attempts at meets and cruises but the major failures were mostly caused by schedule conflicts. Hang round long enough and you'll see my random ass cruise threads...lol!! But hope we can get something worked out, maybe something monthly sametime sameday so ppl will know it's coming like the Varsity meet?!?

In deed I am, I just sold the S2K a couple weeks ago. It was at the Varsity last night and made me regret selling it.
I would assume that a Friday night meet would probably work best as no one has work the following day and Saturday everyone usually has plans with the family.

Sundays seem to work pretty well cause there are a few people that work Saturdays but I think we should change it up a bit too cause there are some that cant make the Sunday meets either. Luckily I can usually make it any week night or weekend if there is time to plan it so just about anything works for me. There just arent that many Evos out there so the meets arent that big or as often. Fact is if you want a meet sometimes you have to set it up yerself & hope for the best. Poor planing is usually a killer for this crowd. Just pick a time date & place. Unfortunately if it's not a major event weather can ruin the meet as most people will just stay home. So lets get the ball rolling on this. I'm down for another meet. I do my best to make it to all the meets I can. Even went to 2 while my Evo was down. ;) Hope to meet joo soon.

Ok so let's shoot for a Sunday meet then.
How does everyone feel about D&B? It's been a long time since I've been there so I'm not sure if it's still any good?!

Sundays are usually better for me as well. I will just have to see if I can get off work on the day that is decided.

What about meeting on a "set" Sunday every month @ the same spot?
Example: Evoatlanta meet every 1st Sunday of the month @ the Varsity.
Same time and place every month is what makes the Varsity meet so successful. If it rains or too cold- wait til the next month. If you cant attend- wait til next month. Ive been attending them since 2003. The people may change as well as the cars but one thing always remains the same...There will always be a Varsity meet on the 1st Thursday of every month.
*I failed at getting 2 meets/cruises set up this year when it was actully warm outside. Now that the Fall winds are coming we will be competing against daylight hours and much cooler temps. That translates to even more excuses.
I hate to say it but I dont think any car owners meet like Honda and Subaru ppl. Maybe Vette and Supra ppl. There are enough evos in Atlanta to consistently have a meet. Again we still own "it" cars. I remember going to "spots" or meets and everyone got excited when an evo pulled up. If we went to the Varsity meet or Gwinnett Sonic's Meet with 10 evos or more Im CERTAIN that we would shut it down! Eitherway If we set something up I will be there. Rant over.

You took the words right out of my mouth. ^
So far we have D&B, the Varsity, Taco Mac, and I'm sure there are other great places in Lithia Springs, Northern Gwinnett, Alpharetta area and perhaps near Cllge Park.
A poll definately needs to be put up. If you all can remember poll response to the 1st Evoatlanta cruise was good,so how bout' it?

Taco Mac would probably be a good place for th first meet.
How are the next weekends looking for everyone? How about the 18th? That will give everyone that plans on attending a couple weeks to arrange their schedules if needed?!

Taco Mac is cool with me. We just need to agree on a location that's meet central for everyone or most. I think the Taco Mac in Lindberg Station is a good one but the parking sucks. Im sure most of us would like to be able to keep an eye out on our cars while we eat. LOL, the good thing about the Varsity is that the food sux, so most people just stay outside in the parking lot.

I'm down for the 18th. The Taco Mac some of us went to after the Zen meet has a nearby parking garage that affords us plenty of space. I'm not sure of the exact location but it was near Perimeter Mall. I'm sure someone will chime in as to which one that was if yall are interested. Doesn't really matter to me which one we choose as long as there is decent parking.

I love tax mac. But doesn't the one at perimeter have a really crappy parking lot for meets? I went to the chipolte for lunch in the same parking lot last week and the lot was very akward, unless they have additional parking I did not see. I love it when at meets all the cars are parked together!

I might be able to talk to Jose the owner of the franchise and see if I can get a reserved section to park. Also all taco macs are first come first serve no reservations. I frequent a taco mac, no I am not a drunk!!

If this is the same one that a few of us went to after the Zen meet then there is a parking garage in addition to the small crowded area in front of the restaurants. Plenty of space for us to have our own section.

Sounds good to me be just a heads up- a lot of the parking garages and decks usually dont allow for people to park and socialize by their cars. That means that we would all park near one another but then we would have to go inside then eat. After we eat they would expect us to leave the parking lot and not socialize and converse. We need a place like Sonic's or Varsity. Theyre allow us to focus on cars/meeting people first then food second. Thats why the Varsity and Sonics meet are so successful. Not the food but the "outside" factor. What about a good mom and pop's resturant with its own parking lot. Like the Baldino's on Buford Hwy next to Butler Tire.

I know it's EvoATL and all, but don't forget about us mid GA guys! A Summit meet would cut down a bit of the driving time for us...granted there's only a few of us from the central area on the forum :)

A Summit meet would def be different and theyre def meet friendly for everyone. Ive been to a few when I had a 350Z and 240. Plus its on 75. I like the Summit idea. Plenty of parking, meet friendly, and plenty of food places near by. Im down

Ok, I've created an "official" GTG thread. I'll leave it at Taco Mac as it seemed to work for everyone although the Summit location isn't a bad idea for a future meet if someone wants to try and get something put together?
