Petit Le Mans!! Who is going?

Who is going to Petit Le Mans this year? It's only 2 weekends away! I will be there with a camper and alot of liquid bread. So if you are going post up and tell us what you are driving so I might be able to spot you! Come and have a beer and enjoy some amazing racing! So, Is audi's R10 in the series this year? I've heard that thing makes un'ba-weavable sound compared to its competitors.

In the prototype class the old tdi R10's are replaced by the new R15. Still quite and fast! There was rumors of a gt based r10, but that will not be there this year. New to this year at road atl will be the Bmw m3's, jaguar xk's, and I believe Corvette will also have gt2 effort along with their amazing gt1 cars. Stop by for a free beer! I was talking to one of the Audi techs today, he said they would most likely get the r8 here next year. They're trying to get the car accommodated to American standards it will be running in gt3 cant wait to see those..

If rumors are true, I think the road going R8 will excel in GT1(Too bad CR are no longer competiting). Its also true that the current GT2 corvette has been in development for 10 years and about the same time American Lemans began in 1999 by Georgias' own Don Panoz. The GT2 class will not be a walk in the park for Corvette Racing; You've got great teams like Dyson Racing, Flying lizards and the M3's.

To tell you the truth my obsession for anything car related came ever since I saw the Bentley LMP race cars in the series.

The bentley's are just R10 chassis' with hardtops. None the less beautiful cars.

Cool I will be on the inside of turn 9, on that dirt road along the back straight. Keep an eye out for a large pop up camper being towed by a blue dodge truck. There will be an 86 light blue carrera, my white evo rs, and at least 1 murdered out s2000.

I believe the race starts at 11 on Saturday and goes on for 10 hours or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first. So it' pretty much and all-day affair ending around 9 PM.

If you can make it there on Friday that's always a good time. Not as crowded as Saturday and lots of shorter races going on along with the qualifying races for Saturday.

I will be up there early Saturday. I believe the tdi cup will be at 9 am Saturday. I should be there at least by 8 am. Boom, who do you work for? I did some work at petit for risi about 3 years ago! I don't think the race has ever lasted the 10 hrs. Normally they hit the 1000 mile mark alittle after 9-9:30.

My friend is an amazing photographer! We will take hundreds of pictures! My father was there yesterday and just as a teaser the new light blue and white advan/CBRD time attack evo 9 is there!!!!! Drool!!!! A slr mclaren racecar along with a modified street version!! Pics might take a little while, some post peocessing to make them amazing!

Patron highcroft Acura, piloted by Scott sharp hit the farnbacar lowes (poor spelling) gt3 rsr while it was exiting the pits. It sent the lmp1 car tumbling into the inside fence at turn 3. Both drivers ok Acura looks totaled, Porsche fixable.

Who owned the black Evo IX SE, IIRC, that I followed into to the parking lot outside of the park? I pulled up in front of you to say hey but you just kinda gave me the "WTF" expression so I drove off.

Wow!...Petit Le Mans has got to be the greatest automotive experience that I ever had. Unfoturnately, I didn't get to experience with close friends who decided to bail in the last minute.
For those who have never: this Road Atl is truly a Gem

I've talked to 10-15 random friendly folks in the crowd which was definately a "+" for me---who share enthusiasm for this series w/ me.

Just got home. I'm soaked :) Saw a couple white VIII/IX's. One was wingless/debadged, and the other was covered in mud :) I think one had a licenseplate of like 1LI11IL1 or something. And saw a blue VIII by a line of shitters just before the vendor seciton. And a red X parked by the ticket booth with a bike rack on top. I had to park over at Lanier since I got there late :(

Sucks that it got rained out, but I had a blast regardless :)

^Wasn't me---MeFryRice. I did see two Evo X's(a blue parked @ turn 9/10 and RR parked by the Welcome to sign up front). I attempted to track Kuruma--however no luck. My laptop died on me so, I couldn't get in contact w/ anybody. And left the track @ 5;10 due because of heavy rain.
