View Full Version : Mellon Tuning EVO sets the stock ecu/mas world record

Kevin and I went to the Midwest Evos bday event in Kansas this past weekend and had an opportunity to dyno the Mellon Tuning EVO at 38psi on e85. There's more in it but the EBC was pegged, time to look into a better solution because I was wanting to shoot it up to 43psi or so. Once that's resolved we'll hit the track and see if we can't dip into the 9's on the stock ecu/mas.

our next event will be MOD (mitsubishi owners day) in normal, Illinois. Hopefully we'll see you there.

You should man. I have been tuned twice by Chris. IMO, take the drive and make a trip outta it, I always do.

Kool, well good luck. Now you know Chris' evo is AS like yours and mine. Make sure he puts the 'secret AS power' in the tune ;)

hey mellon, just out of curiosity what year is your evo? I swear those headlights make it seem like that is my old evo. I've never seen any evos paint the housings black and leave the foglight area chrome like i did on my old evo. Is that an '05 gsr with a sunroof but not ssl?

EDIT: holy shit, i just looked through the pics on evom and found them. That is my old evo!!!! Wow, i've been looking everywhere for it. Glad to see it in good hands. Does it still have the H&R springs? I got that car brand new and traded it in at the infiniti dealer at 12.5k miles with a worn out clutch. It had a jestrtuning sticker on the back window. It also has a mculloch HID Kit...wow, i'm still in shock.

yep that's it. surprised it was a jestr tune, it was hands down the god awfullest tune I've ever seen lol. I kept a picture of it because it was so shockingly bad, it was knocking all over the place when I bought it.

still has springs, couldn't tell what brand they were.

I've tuned some ATL cars and would like to make a trip there to tune some more if there's enough interest.

Dang that's so awesome.. Can't believe Mellon got my evo. And on top of that it's now got 700whp. Freakin badass

it was a jestr mail in flash. Paid like $250 for it back in the day. What a rip off

hit the track last night, couldn't find a shred of traction for several runs and finally got some traction but lost a boost hose, then flat ran out of e85 and had to call it a night. I might try again later this week or next:

best 60' 1.61 (then lost a hose)
best e.t. 10.44 several of these
best mph 139.80 several of these

btw, this was lifting to shift, I was powershifting when I went 135mph on 93 octane last fall when it was much colder.

temp was 77* but 80% humidity last night.
