So yes... Has anyone else experienced this? I recently removed the rear O2 delete mod from my ecu, so my car can pass emission and then it threw this the next day...? I'm truly befuddled... Any ideas?

Not to crash ur' thread...but I would like to know as well ^. This just happened to me this past Fri.(with a Check Engine light(Bank 1), of course). But the code went away along w/ Check Engine on Sunday.

Since i am not near my car nor my code book, i can only assume that bank one is the first O2 sensor in the O2 housing. My assumption would be that you were tuned with the o2 delete, the Ecu ran well, now you don't have the patch, it is over compesating.
1. Have your tuner pull some fuel out.
2. Try that patch from mrfred and acumus. I am sure you know what I mean, i saw you post in that thread.

So you removed your o2 mod to pass emmissions. Did you re-write the XML code on ECUFlash to "trick" the ECU into thinking the o2 sensor is working. i had to do that with mine.

I think this is only confirmed to be working for Evo IX's on the most common rom they come with:

I did it let me know if you need help with that.

Thanks for the input guys and thats what I sorta figured. Also I threw another code not 10 miles after I cleared the 1st P0172, but I'm not sure what this code is, so I'll see what it is soon. My tuner took a look at it and said my fuel trims are really off! Like -12- -15, so he's going to retune it and see what we can do. I also bought a new rear O2 sensor as it was going out which is why I did the rear O2 delete mod through the ECU before I saw it was only good on the IX's, and think that may have something to do with it. I had planned on just returning the sensor since I didn't throw a code for it for sometime, but now I may just plug it in and see what happens...
Apex, what we did was pull a stock tune and switch all my maps over to it instead of going through the code and trying to find where the O2 delete is as a guy named roadspike (who apprently is pretty knowledgeable with ECUflash and tephra mods) put the O2 delete in for me sometime ago.
Evolved, I can't do that patch. They haven't done it for my ecu code or whatever it is.

So I read on EvoM that a boost leak could cause this code to throw. Sure enough I did have a leak at the throttle body shaft seals, so I'll be replacing those soon, but doubt that would be enough to throw the code.

I had a car throw this code yesterday, the low fuel trim was -25 it was rich as hell at idle, some injector latency/scale tweaks and it's back to perfect again, no more CEL, but I did have to touch the WOT fuel map a little

Awesome! Thanks for the tip Mellon and I'll show my tuner this. My tuner has talked to you before on EvoM. His name there is EvoIXreno or Cory.
