Hey all.
Just wanted your opinion about the shep racing transfer case for the evo.
Is it worth it?? I have an 03 and from what i read its the dreaded transmission coupled with the transfer case that causes alot of heartache for you when you start pushing crazy amounts of torque.
The transmission is going to be sent off to shep racing for a full rebuild however they are trying to push the transfer case on me as well. Do you guys think its worth it?
check out their website www.sheptrans.com

Depends on the power you're gonna make & how abusive you'll be with it. I dont like to replace things unless they break, but in this case if you damage it beyond rebuild then you are lookin at over twice the cost for a new built one. $1600 now or $3900 later if you hurt it. If you're waried aboout the trans then the TC isn't far behind.

I voted yes. I had a leak damaging my original one + trans. I was hurting for money at the time and bought used pieces. I now have a built trans, and shep stage two T/c bought new(3k). If you can afford the upgrade, 1600>3-4k any day!

I would definitely do the TC while you're at it.

Definitely worth it if you're going to be pushing higher power. I've got one and works great.

I wish I would have sent my tc out while getting my transmission built by shep. When I build the motor I will send it out this time. So if you can afford just do it for the peace of mind of not worrying when it will go out
