View Full Version : Boost Coltroller HELP!

ok so a buddy of mine gave me his greddy profec type s boost controller a while back and it been kinda sittin around till today when i got the chance to put it in. so iv looked up the install guides and all that mess to make sue iv got everything hooked up right BUT no matter what adjustments i do with the controller i can only get 10lbs of boost. i was thinkin possibly the solenoid might be bad. anyone else have some ideas???

is 10lbs what the waste gate holds? sounds like the boost controller isnt working right, or you dont have it set up right. I wouldn't cancel out the solenoid yet, perhaps you should find someone with experience with that specific controller!

I had a profec b spec II and once I learned how to tune it it was great. If the type S has 2 ports in the solenoid make sure you have one plugged up if they aren't both being used. I know I had to do that with mine on my 240.

yea its actually got 3. two r being used and the other i have plugged

I'm not sure what you mean by "plugged," but the 3rd port is supposed to be left open. That's the one that vents off the pressure to regulate boost. If it is not able to vent, you will get wastegate pressure ... around 11 psi.
If that's not the issue, verify that the lines are connected to the correct solenoid ports. If they are and you crank up the boost level with no result, it could be a bad solenoid. You can replace it with the Ingersol Rand 3-port solenoid for around $30.
